The scene was Schatzi's on Main in Santa Monica, CA. This is our famous 'Governator's' restaurant and one of the only places in Los Angeles where you can light up and enjoy a cigar. Ah man... and what a great night it was.
Rod and his awesome girlfriend, Ashley, Darick, Sam and me got seated around 7:45pm and got to the business for the night... FOOD... just kidding
Well, actually, we did eat first except for Strayvector who just couldn't resist lighting up immediately in one of the few places that you actually can light up here in Los Angeles.
Nice atmosphere at Schatzi's. Inside the restaurant there's all sorts of Arnold memorablia hanging on the walls. Turn the corner to the men's room and you're staring at a giant poster of Arnold in 'Pumping Iron.' That's a little creepy. But most of the other shots are fun. The food is good and no one gives you awful stares for lighting up a stogie. Did I mention that it's tough to find a place to light up in LA?
Ah...what to smoke? Between the five of us we had just about every brand represented so serious decisions had to be made. Seems like I saw a few empty bands at the end of the night (midnight) which I believe belonged to VR Famosos, Monte Edmundos, PSD4s, Party Shorts, RyJ Petit Pyramide EL... a really great selection.
What a great chance to get together with fellow CPers and enjoy cigars and cigar chat live and in real time. We chatted, we traded, we ate, we smoked. We had a fantastic FESTIBLE!
