I've searched and searched, and can't figure this one out. I have a 60" projection tv (bought it last year), and am trying to figure out how to clean the screen. If you push on it, it bends (very fragile). It needs to be cleaned, however, what do you use? Is there a special kit?

Thanks for any info!

If its just dust I would lightly wipe it using a microfiber cleaning cloth, the kind they sell to clean eyeglasses, or one of those swiffer cloths

If you have sticky crud on it you would probably need to use some sort of cleaning agent or solvent, however I would probably try to contact the manufacturer on what to use instead of trusting the goof balls here.

You might also post this question on http://avsforum.com/.

I don't have anything like that on it... :0 :)

Thanks for the advice. I'll check out that forum as well. I'm just trying to get rid of dust, nothing "sticky" on it.

Bummer Bruddah Rod! If it was some sticky, gooey stuff I was gonna ask you for a DVD recommendation! :0  :p  LOL!

Aloha,

I just bought a dvd burner -- I can send ya some of my picks. ;)

I have a 43" Hitachi Ultravision projection. The manual said to wipe it down with a sponge soaked in warm, soapy water and dry with a soft towel, which I have done for over 3 years now with no issues.

It specifically said not to use solvents or ammonia based products as it could damage the screen.

If it had just had some kind of prevention advice for a four year old with a plastic ball bat.....well that would be a different thread I guess....

Ya Ive got a 53" Hitachi Ultravision HD TV that ive had for a few years. Mine has a
screen protector installed on it. To clean that I just use windex but to clean the screen under the protector I use micro fiber dust cloth, can of compressed air to get the tough spots...

Monster Cable makes a spray gel that is drip free and comes with a microfiber cloth. I use it on everything; monitor, tv's, camcorder screen, digital camera screen, etc. $19.99 at CC.
