Do it! I drove out to Seattle last summer for 3 weeks... the road is in great shape, and I had no problems at all! other than having to stop for all the black bears, caribou, bison and so on! And if you do, get ahold of me ahead of time- I can point you in a few good directions and arrange a smoke or two!
