Okay, okay...they'd likely just confiscate the lighter and give you a scolding...but is it worth trying to circumvent TSA/DHS regs?

As Brett said, I think you're more likely to lose your lighter than to get it through. They have the machines set pretty sensitive here. I would think they would pick up the lighter no problem.

Thats right, encourage more public cavity searches. I just got back from a business trip and I still think some TSA rep owes me dinner.

I have a Transpak, but was hoping to avoid checked bags. Short of somebody chiming in that they regularly travel with theirs, I'll probably just buy a bic at the other end.
