But Fuente's Work of Art and Between the Lines don't exist. I went into the only local store that has a walk-in humidor just to see if they had gotten anything new in. While I was in there one of the guys that runs the place, who I hadn't met before, came in and started chatting me up, probably just making sure I wasn't going to walk off with anything. I mentioned that I was looking for a Work of Art and he said he had never heard of it. I told him that it was part of the Hemingway line, which he had a couple of, but he said that they don't exist and that they must have been fakes. He said the same about the Between the Lines, but I informed him that I didn't think normal dealers could get them. I don't think he was convinced however, as he pulled out his magazine that had the stuff he could order and it didn't have either of them in there. Oh well, maybe when I can get my hands on a couple, I'll go back and let him try one of these "fakes".

The ignorance of some of these guys. How do go into business for yourself and know nothing about the business?

Those are the types of guys who aren't hobbyists, and just own the shop to make the $.

Sad, Jack Schwartz must have sold me fakes. :0

 What an Idiot.....

i went to my competitors shop, before i opened my own, and asked for an anejo. i got the same response. he actually acted offended. i wanted to say, "man, put down the porn and mix in a cigar magazine from time to time."

Hell no! Don't give that guy a damn thing. You go there and smoke one of each.

Like Khari said, how are you in the cigar business and have no idea about it? Pineapple Phillies are probably their best seller anyways

In the guy's defense, he did say he hadn't smoked a cigar in a good while, and that the shop had brought him in because he blended pipe tobacco's. He showed me what was apparently his "blend" and also showed me all the other pipe tobacco they had stocked. I do wish we had a good store locally with a good selection though, as it is I have to drive an hour, there and back, to be able to get to a shop with a little selection and fairly normal prices. Oh well, maybe some day.

Looks like I better go tell that big shpo across the river from me that they have a whole showcase full of fakes. Maybe they'll give me a great deal on them.
