From a generous BOTL, a new review series has come: the Illusione and Caldwell Review Series. Below is a picture of what is currently set aside for the series. Thank you to @xyz123 for making this happen:

I&C-01 Mystery Maduro (6x52?)
First in the review series, gifted by @xyz123 who promised to tell me what this is once it was smoked. 1/3: Very maduro. Chocolate, espresso and nuts. Very flaky ash but tasty. Some spiciness towards the end of this third. 2/3: Mexican hot chocolate. 3/3: Mesquite and cacao. There is some...

I&C-02 Illusione Ultra OP No. 4
It is a seasonably warm January day, overcast and I felt in need of something strong. So I picked this cigar up. 1/3: Strong and spicy off the bat. Was this a mistake at 10am? As the 1st third progressed I began to get distinct tea notes. 2/3: Well done hamburger with copious amounts of tea...

I&C-03 Illusione Le Elegance
A lovely cigar. 5 5/8 by 40 rg. 1/3: Spice. Tea. Lemon zest. 2/3: A lot of delicate flavors are present: brown sugar, tea, lemon & vanilla. 3/3: Water with lemon. The final third kind of died on me. I tried several attempts to relit it but the cigar was done. I was prepared to nub this...

I&C-04 Caldwell Midnight Express Robusto
I don't know anything about Caldwell so I have got no idea what this is all about and I choose not to look it up to avoid any influence about what I might read on line. 1/3: Tea and charred steak. Heavily charred. 2/3: More of the same, though the char factor calmed down some. 3/3: Talk about...

I&C-05 Illusione 88
Beautiful looking robusto. Firm draw but I attempted to correct that with my PerfecDraw. 1/3: Maraschino cherry juice, black pepper and wood. 2/3: Nugget, salty pretzel and peanuts. 3/3: Simple syrup and white pepper. The tight draw took away from the experience but the flavor was definitely...

I&C-06 Illusione Rothschild
1/3: Cheyenne pepper and salt. 2/3: Smoke. Light sweetness, not quite the simple syrup of the 88. 3/3: Tea and the smell of steak on the grill. Good cigar, but a great cigar for the price.

I&C-07 Illusione Singular Kadosh
A while back, maybe as far back as 2 years ago, I think I did a review on a handful of Singulars sent to by a great BOTL but I don't think this was with that previous group. 1/3: Salt & grilled meat. 2/3: Faint fresh cut hay & BBQ rub. 3/3: Brown sugar. A touch of acid like a malt vinegar...

I&C-08 The Last Tsar
1/3: Rich flavor. Vanilla frosted cupcake with some cherry icing. 2/3: Lemon zest, Madagascar vanilla and moist cake (which I guess added up equals a vanilla frosted cupcake). 3/3: Lemon pepper seasoning with some Cheyenne pepper dust. Pretty enjoyable. I need to try more Caldwell.

I&C-09 The Jeremy Piven Collection PIV Robusto
I bought several of these back in 2021 when they came out. I like these, but it was time to put in the mix with other cigars form the same factory and master mind. Look below for a link from last summers review. 1/3: Bananna bread. The nasal sensation from the retrohale is that of drinking...

I&C-10 Illusione MK
1/3: Black pepper and spice right of the bat. If I didn't know better, I'd swear that I'm smoking a tatuaje noella. @modo22 you are the resident expert on Tatuaje, I'd love for you to try this comparison. 2/3: Salty leather. 3/3: Cotton candy without the added pink or blue flavor. Really...

I&C-11 The Goat by Caldwell
Surprisingly I cannot find much information on this cigar. Judging by the name, this is should be the greatest cigar of all time. For Caldwell? For the cigar industry? For humanity? Who knows. By the end of this, I will know. 1/3: Medium in body. Spice with light cream. Some cinnamon...

I&C-12 Illusione Epernay Le Ferme
Solid robusto looking cigar. 1/3: Mild and yet medium at the same time. Can this happen? It is happening. Roasted nuts black pepper nutmeg. Cardboard too. 2/3: Cardboard. The cgar has made up its mind and is now medium minus. Muted pepper and sweetness. The smell of freshly cut lemon...

I&C-13 Illusione Cigares Prive Lancero, Natural
1/3: Wow, the flavors off the first puff! Nutty, sweetness and faint spice on the retrohale. 2/3: Floral / botanical notes. Raisins. 3/3: Buttered cinnamon toast. Very tasty, but reinforced that i don't care for lanceros. I see that they come in other sizes which I'll have to seek out.
