I'm a newbie around here and don't know the story about what happened with Zac and really don't care what happened,but they are two seperate boards and i'm sure that Rod would like it to stay that way and see topics like these never pop up over here.

Alex allowing his name to be used adds validation (however slight) to that board and its management team. He is not so straight forward that he's above allowing himself to be used by Zac. SFG75 is a major disappointment as he is not only allowing himself to be used but is actively condoning the bans of people who were his friends and deleting posts and threads for the sole reason of not being agreeable. Finally, if Rod had a problem with this thread he wouldn't have posted his support of it and his condemnation of that board in total. Your friend is burning bridges here Hale and losing credibility. His call.

Not to sound like a total out of the looper, but what in the world happened to our cigar boards? All I've seen since I've come back is a LOT of fighting everywhere. I never belonged to that board, but others I used to frequent all are going through the same thing. Is this just a shakeup to get back to the goodness that was cigars, or is there something else going on?

What happened to just enjoying cigars and talking about them?
 
What are you talking about Tone? This is a completely civil discussion. If you squash dialogue like this you will end up fermenting it.

Not fermenting Sam, just curious. I've been unplugged for a while, wondering why all the boards are in what looks like a shakeup. It's all new to me. It's been what... Almost a solid year and a half since I've been gone :( Need to catch up on all the news that's fit to print heh

Well Tone, some scammers and thieves arrived on the scene during your 2+ years of absence and unlike a few other sites where "negativity" is frowned upon, the people were called out for their misdeeds, bad behavior and taking advantage of people, etc......

It may appear "unplesant" but it is a necessary part of any legitimate on-line community.

Elethuhardt got involved in a pass here and made very lopsided P/T's and some astute members here pointed that out. So this dickhead goes to StogieChat, pulls the SAME crap, a few of us follow him over there, warn those fools and they ban ALL of us.

Gamelover2004 joins up here, does a few trades in an attempt to establish a reputation then starts scamming people, lying, stealing, etc. So once again, a few of us "call him out" and PuroBrat in true PuroBrat fashion defends the scumbag and all hell breaks loose. Gamelover2004 goes to all other cigar boards he can find and people follow him to those boards and warn them. On quite a few occasions those who were critical of GL2004 were called "trolls" & "troublemakers" and aw gee, "controversy" & "drama" but too bad. Tell me this, would you rather we all play Rodney King "Can't we all just get along" and allow scammers and thieves to get away with their crap or should these scumbags be shown up for exactly what they are?

Shuji joins, posts, gets involved in contests and trades then scams people on five different occasions.

Some lying 19 year old jerkoff named Zac Herrin from Seal Beach, CA started a site called "letstalkcigars" and in attempt to promote his lame site, he spammed CigarPass on three occasions, then LIED about it and some of us didn't take too kindly to that. Now his board is the biggest joke on the internet and he has no idea why :laugh:

These are only a few examples, I could go on an on but I think you get the point ;)

Now life is not a bowl of peaches and cream 100% of the time, once in a while the trash has to be taken out and sometimes it ain't pretty.
 
Maybe it's just me, but I really don't have the time to check out all the different cigar boards. I've joined on a couple, I think I did on LTC for a joke, but I've hardly ever posted on another board. No place like home I guess.

Yeah Bill, as of last night I could still view. I was specific in asking not to be banned as I may wish to "check in" at a later time. I haven't checked this morning, I suspect my thread might be deleted, as I am no longer a member, and it seems like they specialize in "Revisionist History". This is the main reason I turned in my member card.

Update: Thread is still there, although they have already made changes to their site. At the time I wrote my "exit strategy", Zac had posted and "stickied" his rules on just about EVERY topic board. Now I see it's just done once, all the rest are gone. It really was comical to see all of the stickies with the same heading.

Don't even get me started on PB and his buddy... Can't remember his name, but let's say during one of my passes, his 'co-worker' hijacked my pass and PB 'saved' it. Grrrr... Now I know why I didn't want to know :p

Never bothered with that LTC board, glad I didn't.

It sounds a little like the Godfather movie tho, when Clamenza was explaining to Mike about Mob Wars... "Every few years you have to have these to get rid of the bad blood".

Plus, what seems to be contacts I don't wish to make. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough, but I like it here. What's wrong with just sticking to one or two places. And if it's agreed by probably 3/4 of the board that LTC is the devil, why would you go there. I think PB once said "for the conversations", well I'd rather be blasted by Sam Clemmons, CC, or any other FOG 100 times than have to read the boring stories I've seen over there. I said this before. It's really a shame since Scott used to be a pretty good guy. If I remember correctly, he was pretty ruthless with Barney.

If Scott posted like that on LTC, he'd have at least 47 "strikes" by now according to the rules HE made up.

Its kinda sad that they made up new rules for a board and let certain members break them just to hit on a CP member, who they admit didn't post much there anyway.
I see nobody getting strikes for saying camaroon4me is a dork and his thread is gay. Even SFG himself posted a Richard Simmons pic up and said its gay.
