That's just it. Andrew is, from my dealings and experience with him, none of those things. I have herfed with him and he's a good guy. He hasn't been around much lately but I know he wasn't out to screw anyone in the NST.

EDIT: Indyrob - It's time to be quiet or apologize (and mean it). Trust me, I've been there. I called out some FOGs in my first month or two here. It wasn't pretty. You CAN get past this but you have to own up to your mistakes here. Bill is one of the good guys. Period.

I emailed Ludwig today and he responded to me in less than a half an hour. I can guarantee you that Ludwig would have responded to indybob in less than one day had he sent and email to Ludwig. But no, he decides to start trouble THEN start flaming me, then digs his hole deeper, and deeper and deeper..........

I think its crap how indybob handled this.  I have participated in the NST a couple of times and always had a great transaction.  To be ripped on for no reason is total and utter BS. 

As was already said by a veteran in good standing, not all avenues of communication were exhausted before the trash talking.  Especially about people that didn't even have anything to do with this particular transaction.  It would be a real shame if a newbie was turned away from the thread or the site for that matter because of what indybob said.

The Newbie Sampler Trade thread has been going on for a year and 5 months.  I don't think it would have made it that long if the FOGs handled things poorly.

There is no recourse listed in the NSTT for dealing w/ a late trade. My trader dropped all contact w/ me. I tried the link in his profile to email him. I am tracking all the pm's I sent him and they are UNREAD. What else am I to do?

IR(and honestly all the rest of us "Newbs", I am not jumping on the wagon here by any means(hell you sent me the stinky sticks to assist with a little payback), but I noticed your signature was "school me...don't scold me..." and it is something all of us newbs needs to ask from ANY board members....so I figured I would throw out something I did before ever doing a single post on the board in hopes of helping a fellow newb now or down the road.

I thought it looked like a great site, loved the ideas of Passes, the NSTT, the true friends that have developed over the years(not saying I was lurking for years) I went through many threads spent alot of time with the trusty Southern Comfort and a few good sticks, I figured out how folks(FOGS) around here handle the disputes, I also found that on more than one occasion CC has stepped in to help a newb get what was coming to them, as well as give a swift kick in the a$$ to newbs and fogs alike that got out of hand.

I knew going into the NSTT that there sould be no question as to how it would end up. I drew WAM79 and I could not have been happier. He had to wait a little extra time on my end because I screwed up and had Billboard ship it to me rather than ship directly to Bill. When he finally was able to pick up my end he pointed out that next time I can let teh vendor ship directly and save time(and money). I wasn't really worried about not getting my end because even had things went bad I knew from reading OLD OLD threads that it would have been taken care of with no hesitation by the exact same folks offering to help a newb out.

Trust me I am with you on the FOGS/NEWBS we dont know them and they do not know us. This is the exact reason the NSTT is here to help US get to know each other. I think it is SamClemmons that I have seen numerous times say he dislikes being referring to as a "FOG" I honestly think alot more of the "FOGs" feel the same way.

I will say IF I have a trade go bad I want CC(I think Guard Dog may be a better handle :laugh: ) on my side heheh, during my learning and searching through the board for older threads to get an idea of things I have seen instances where he will go to another board IF someone screws one of us here at home.

IF you have a chance look into some of the older pages and you can gain ALOT of info.

...and I have to be honest, I'm not really sure how sincere that apology is - there's only a couple of words with no inflection to judge the apology on.

You had a butt chewing coming in this and the NST thread - your actions were innappropriate. You were owed the sticks - you were told OVER and OVER that you would get them come hell or high water, including CC telling you he would have made it good. Just because it took three weeks to get your end does not mean that you have carte blanche to run your mouth off... You can be angry - you own that - but you had better be really careful about what and how you say what you say. Once it's out there, you can't take it back (even though you edit your posts, it doesn't mean it's gone...)

So, Indy - what is your intention from here forward? Do you plan on continuing with your grudge against CC, believing he is some worthless piece of crap you want nothing to do with? Or is it your intention to make it better...

When you signed up to this site you agreed to the terms, no flaming or name calling. The above quotes were made by you, and I find it quite distastful.

In regard to CC having any pull around here: the only pull the "FOGS" have are their reputation for maintaining 100% honest trades and their wanting to keep CP free from scum. You may have noticed we don't employ moderators who have power struggles; this site is self moderated. The "FOGS" have the best interest of CP in mind and try to keep the site on track.

I highly suggest you make ammends with Bill and move on.

I see that there has been some concern from some of the FOGS that this dispute would turn of some Newbies off from trying the NST. I am involved at this very moment with wam79 on a trade and let me say that I had been following the flaming for pure entertainment only and even if I had known that it would reach this point I still would have tried it and made my own decision based on my own experience.

Normally I do not get involved in these things, but since the question was asked about being out of line or not and since I have done a bunch of trades from the "fog" side and one trade that was frightening from the newbie side (with Phil just before his disappearance and it took a long time with more than tiwce the dollar amount you have on the line) I feel I can add an opinion with some experience.

The post on the 29th was out of line. You should have asked for help, told the story, and explored more lines of communication. Others on the board would have provided the advice necessary. This thing NST has not lasted this long without being done correctly. Reputations are hard to rebuild, just ask Phil, and I feel like mine (ours) was called into question in rather quick fashion.

BTW Rod does "move on" mean move on.....<outta here>?

Hey IndyRob I feel for you. You did make some unwise comments. I'm sure you are not a bad guy, you seem to be generous which I know because of all of your bombing posts. You just need to chill sometimes and be patient, it truely is a virtue. You need to think real good before you post, I have made this mistake as well so I can understand. These "FOGS" are very generous with these newbie samplers from what I can tell. You just have to wait because I'm sure posting on the internet isn't everyone's top priority. I also think this site could use a bit more tollerance, and be a bit more patient with newbies and their rash posts. We as newbies need to respect those who came before us, it's their site and we are mere guests for the time being and have a lot to prove. IR has been flogged and deserved it. His future moves will dictate how he will be perceived here. My question is what about Lumberg? How has he escaped being layed open?

My gut feeling is 7 days, but I'd wait 14 before making a stink about it. As for me I'd say ASAP, with 3-5 days being the max.

Someone correct me, maybe I just have my facts wrong. Lumberg doesn't make good on a trade for 4 weeks? Lumberg claims he was out of town and never could make it to the PO before today yet he cashed this guys check two weeks ago? I find this to be as lame of an excuse as they come. Appears Lumberg had time to make it to the bank and cash this guys check.

Lets hear the song and dance this time Lumberg. No communication, check cleared 2 weeks ago (which means you had the check before 2 weeks ago), finally sending out cigars today, 4 weeks later, only after being poked to getitdone.

Oh yea, I forgot I've placed Lumberg on ignore after his last foot in mouth mishap. Somebody PM me if he has anything worthwhile in response. Key word there was worthwhile.


PS - someone in this thread refered to Lumberg as a FOG...... ROFLMAO! We have sunk to a new low IMO.
