I've been smoking on and off (mostly off) for the past several years. I had my first cigar while in High School, smoking erratically, and now Im smoking much more regularly.
I've found though, that my favorite cigars, coincidentally or not, have always been cut with a "v-cutter" or a "cat's eye" cutter or whatever you want to call it.
So...I was wondering what everyone's favorite method of cutting their cigar is?
Guillotine
Punch
V-cut

I can't say I've really used a cigar-punch, but I was a long time user of the double-blade guillotine cutter. I find that the v-cut keeps the smoke cooler. Though, this could also be because i prefer larger ring gauges. I've also read that it's supposed to catch a lot of the tar and other stuff that makes the cigar more harsh.
A friend of mine really like the large cuts that his scissors make. To me it feels like sucking on an exhaust pipe.

This whole topic should have been titled: "to each his own"

My Padron's always gets punched due to the small cap. All fat guage gets the double guillotine, small guage gets the punch.

Depends on the smoke. Smaller ones generally get the punch andlarger get a standard cut. I really like the "V" cutters but have never found a good sharp one that didn't cost me a mint. The cheap ones frigg'n suck. Why you can get a decent DBG for almost nothing while you cannot get a decent "V" cutter for less than the cost of a box of cigars beats me. ???

...pretty much everything sees the business end of my Xikar. I have a punch, admittedly a cheap one; tried it a few times on Robustos but the jury is still out. The Xikar gets used daily....

Use the cheap freebie blade cutter. Works best IMO. :)

crap- I have them all... Xi2, v-cutter and punch. All depends on my mood, which I can find first and what cigar I have!
