....hear, hear. Funny thing, I had the Xikar and hadn't been using it much. Craig's posts got me to reconsider, so I gave the blades a good alcohol wipe and started using it more. Son of a gun, I really like it. My cutter selection is old school Xikar, old school Palio, Colibri V-cutter, Xikar V-cutter, and a Xikar punch. All quality tools, but these days, other than torpedoes, pretty much everything goes into the Xikar V-cutter. Might have to get one of the inexpensive ones from Amazon to try, well, because....
Got to say, again, the best thing you can do for all your cutting tools is to give them a good alcohol wipe every couple months. The blades don't get 'dull' per se, but they do get coated with sticky cigar oils and don't cut worth a crap. Alcohol wipes get used around here for lots of things; I use them on PCB's I rework, clean off the box cutter and pocket knife, really handy to have around. Cheap at the pharmacy and lots of other places, and they really do a great job on your cutters.
Party on, gentlemen....![]()
Well I'm a one trick person, I still use my original Palio. Blades are still sharp, but the 2 pieces have began to come apart, if I'm not careful.
I'll be looking into a V cutter.
