Is there something wrong w/ me?

I've had a few sungrowns in the past few days and I cannot seem to enjoy them. Maybe I just dont like the flavors they give off?

I had:

-RP Sungrown toro
-AF 8-5-8 SG


Anyone have a suggestion of wehre to go from here? Maybe sungrowns just dont do it for me?

I usually love creamy cigars (ie: RyJ Dominican, CAO MX2) I also enjoy spicier cigars (Italia, Brazilia,DT corojo)

I think right now ,in your development as a cigar smoker, you maybe in the CT. shade. Try cigars with those wrappers. Eventually your taste will change. There's no sense smoking cigars you don't like, even if everyone else says they're wonderful.

One more you might want to try before you toss in the towel on Sun Growns. AF Cuban Beli. I don't smoke much AF stuff, but this is one cigar I consistently find enjoyable.

try the cuban beli or the a vsg. if you don't like them, try back in 6 months or when the other stuff gets boring.

I got a 5 pack of the RP OSG's off cbid as I like SG's, but they were not good to me at all, so it's also subjective line to line.

I developed an aversion to Cameroon wrappers. It is odd and happened suddenly when smoking short stories, which used to be a favorite of mine. Now I just don't like most Cameroon wrapped cigars, but there are a few blends like I DO like with those wrappers (Don Lino Africa and the Perdomo line that CI used to flog come to mind.)

Maybe you've got the same thing going on w/ sungrowns. But tastes do change, so don't give up forever, and I'd bet you could still find a couple of blends you'd enjoy. I'd also bet that the Cuban Veli would be one of those blends. They are great.

Thank you guys. I wasn't going to completely give up..but I'll definitely try the AF you guys suggested. I think a buddy and I are going to go to the store on Wed. so i'll do my best to pick one up! :thumbs:

I've also had Opus' that I have enjoyed..so maybe like you guys said, it depends on the line. I'll keep mixing in a few SG's while focusing my attention on Maduros and CTs.

I am in the same situation with the Maddie. The first ones that I tried I really disliked. I am not sure if it was the wrapper or the cigar Cusano 18 Paired Dbl Mad, and the Indian Tabac Mad. But I did seem to enjoy the Gurkha Fuerta, so I just don't know....I will keep throwing one in there every now and then and see whats up.
