I'm not in the mood to write a full review right now, being outside finally after nine days of rain on a beautiful fall New England night. Drinking a Linkwood Distillery specialty bottling (McDavid), and enjoying this surprisingly good cigar. Bought them about a month ago (ish) and hey've been laying down since then. Apparently, the box is from early 2004.
Te draw is a tiny litle it loose for my taste, but it does make for an effortless smoke. This is the ONLY thing I can say that is not complimentary about this cigar. For a 70 dolla box of 25, I am sold, assuming the rest are this good (this is my first out of the cabinet). Great flavor, flawless construction, burns impeccably. JR calls them a medium-full flavor, I would be more comfortable calling them medium. If I am not mistaken, these cigars already have some light plume on them. Impressive for under 3 bucks a stick.

Well, back to my scotch and my magazine, hoppe everyone out there is having as nice a night.

I've al;ways had good luck with JR Ultimates. Lots of bang for the buck. They age very well IMHO.

I can absolutely see these aging well. Just finished it up, and really can't believe how much I just enjoyed an under three dollar cigar. With a little more time, i am sure they will be even better. think I might have just found my inexpensive go-to smoke.

I am working through cabs of 10s and 30s right now, and they are great. The 70s are also good. Definetely a "go to" smoke for me, have been since i started with cigars. You made a great discovery!

Hmm,

I haven't had one of these in some 5 or 6 years, IIRC. Might be time to pick some up again. I'm always looking for some decent, cheap "every day" smokes.

Thanks for the review.

Wilkey

I get one everyonce in a while from a friend who smokes them pretty regularly. I have to agree that they aren't bad for a $3 stick.

I haven't had any Linkwood in ages, don't even have one in the collection at the moment. You should do a review.

Had one of these last night. Very good value smoke, and I think I am going to see how they age. I'll throw a few in the humi for a while and let them go.

Especially the Cabinet selection.

For the newbies who are reading this thread, the cabinet designation means sungrown wrapper.
