A new B&M just opened up the street from me. Good selection, not amazing, but good. Here is what I picked up:

It's nothing compared to what some of you all come home with, but I'm just getting started!

Good stuff there, Ian. Everyone's gotta start somewhere and that ain't bad at all.

Wilkey

Thanks. To be honest, I really have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to buying cigars yet...... I just buy what I've seen around here. lol.

Ian, some of us that have been around for over a year continue to mimick everything FOGs do/buy. There's nothing wrong in following what the board has been talking about, think of it this way....have you ever been hungry and somoene starts talking about a great juicy steak they had the night before?---well chances are you got hungry for a steak afterwords....same thing goes with a cigar! If a FOGs been talking about a Tat, CAO, Punch ect. I start thinking bout those cigars----and eventually purchase the cigar they were talking about. Great line-up of smokes you have there though! You'll learn by simply picking out a cigar and lighting it up. Cant tell how you will enjoy it based on looks alone ;)

----speaking of a new B&M, I just went to a store in my area for the first time yesterday--decent selection I guess (i'm kind of spoiled w/ some of the B&M's i have around my hometown) and staff was nice, but they had a 21 and older Parlor, which pissed me off b/c i'm not 21, prices were a bit high but i purchased an RP Edge Maduro Toro and an MX2 Toro to be nice.

This place is full of Fuente, Padron, and Pepin whores. We need some more off the tangent, how about some love for Camacho and Rolando Reyes Sr.?

That is a very nice selection you have there. I'm just now getting comfortable with picking out cigars and knowing which ones I'll like and won't like. I learned the hard way though-spending money and lighting them up. That is the one thing that I will say has been fun so far. Its not just about sitting down and relaxing with the cigar. Its the whole experience. From buying, to smelling , to punching/cutting, tasting, lighting, drinking, and smoking. I have more fun trying new things and new experiences than I do actually smoking the damn things.

Nice pickup! I really like those RyJ Vintage smokes. They really agree with me on a warm day with a nice tall glass of iced tea.

Don't worry about not having all the super premiums. The majority of the cigars in my humidor are just regular line stuff from many places. The supers get a lot of talk just because a lot of people don't have ready access to them. It's a big deal when they get them and a big deal when they smoke them. Of course they want to share. :)

Good luck to you!

Little threadjacking here.....When I first started smoking, I bought a variety of sticks. Astrals (yuk), punch, ect. I used to look at premiums and Super-premiums and say, way outta my budget. Now, really all the NCs I buy are Padron, Fuente, Litto, Pepin stuff because that is what I have come to like. If I am going to be smoking a cigar, it needs to be consistently good to my flavor profile. I have already figured out what I like, and that's what I stick with. The above manufacturers are the ones that do it for me.

So, don't let anybody here or anywhere for that matter influence what you buy. Also, don't let the price tag influence you one way or another. There are plenty of $10+ sticks I wouldn't give a buck for, and lots of $4 ones I would give $10 for. Threadjack off.......

I agree with Mike. I had a Sancho Panza Double Maduro the other day and absolutely loved it. These are $3.50 a stick in some places, and smoke very well.

Ian, good choices. That's the fun of this hobby -- picking up sticks that jump out at you, and repurchasing the ones that agree with you the best!

$3.50 a piece?!?! Check out JR man...I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

....ever wonder if there's a reason....??.... :whistling:

Nice selection of sticks from your B&M. Kidding aside, the guys are right. I try new stuff all the time; every now and then I find a really good one....

Enjoy - B.B.S.
