Anyone else having problems w/ these smokes? I've sparked 2, and both had major tunnel issues that ruined the experience, ended up tossing both 1/2 way through. Nothing pisses me off more than a big $ stick that has faulty construction...

I always clip both ends to prevent that from happening. I used to get that very problem with every perfecto shape I lit. Clipping the foot will help you to get an even burn started. Worked for me anyway.

Gator,
It was around Christmas time. I had an Emerald sitting in my Humi for atleast 3 months. Went up to my local b&m(ovtc)to smoke it. The manager doesnt let people smoke this time of the year. So I smoked it out in the parking lot. Cold as shit. The emerald buned uneven as shit. JUst wasnt a good smoke for the price IMHO. I thought it might of been because of the wind and cold but Ill never smoke one of these again. The only reason I thried this one was that most people said the emerald was the best out of this line. Anyways that my story and Im sticking to it

All in all, I have smoked a couple of boxes of the Rubies(smoked 1 stick yesterday evening), they happen to be one of my top 3 smokes. Of this series, the Emerald is the only one I didn't enjoy. I would say that quite a few of them have had un-even burn issues, but I have never had one tunnel on me. Just a quick touchup generally fixes the problem.

I agree, for the price you would expect very few burn issues. Because I like them so much, I just accept the issues I have had.

Never had any prob w/ the red ones. I have tried 3 of the Emaralds and have a few more. The 1st one I smoked lit and burned perfectly but I could not get any smoke from it even though it was not plugged at all, the cherry would light up and everything but barely any smoke. The place I bought it from gave me another one. It smoked fantastic and I really enjoyed it. The 3rd one I had was exactly like the 1st. None of them tunneled on me though. I certainly wont be buying any more Emeralds.

ATuck and I actually met the lead rep of Miami cigar company when he was visiting in NYC, Rene. He assured us that the guarantee all their product and said there retailers do as well, so if you bring a complaint to where you bought them from they should replace them free of charge. If you have any issuess, PM me or Alan and we will get you his direct line and email.

If 2 out of 3 were like this, I have no interest in trying another one. Too many other good cigars out there, certainly by this company. The lady at the shop gave me credit toward another purchase that I made.

I smoked a ruby red yesterday and I had burn issues and wrapper issues. The darn wrapper started to really crack and peel. Not sure what the problem would be since they were stored is a humidor that is kept at 68% RH and 68 degrees. I smoked it outside when it was 45%RH and 78 degrees. :(
