I picked up a sixer of this brew last week to try something new. I am a big fan of stouts, so I thought I'd try the local brewery's version. It was pretty darn good. Lot's of flavor, but smoother than some stouts. Good coffee and caramel notes with just a little bit of chocolate thrown in. I'd give it a 7 or 8 out of 10.
It really reminded me of Guinness, but it was a little smoother (maybe this has something to do with the oatmeal?). It ain't gonna put hair on your chest, but it is a pretty good offering. I'm going to try some of their other varieties over the next few weeks and try to get my hands on some of the seasonal stuff, as well.
