The beer: Left Hand Brewing Imperial Stout
10.4% ABV
Brewed in Longmont, CO

Inital appearance:
On the pour a nice black stout with good head retention. I had anticipated a loss of head like Guiness and ended up with three fingers of foam. It was a nice light brown head though.

Smell:
As with most stouts this one smelled of roasted malts. Not overtly sugary or floral.

Taste:
Slightly smooth and creamy, not overly carbonated. Definetly tasting a dark roasted malt with light amounts of hops. Both can be distinguished however and so I beleive is a nice balance.

Feel:
This feel nice going down and leaves a slight alcohol dark chocolate taste afterward.

I'd give this beer an 8/10. It is a solid beer that I will continue to enjoy. However it is not a beer I'd kill my grandmother for. Paying $8 or so a bottle that is 650 ml is not to bad on the price for a good beer. Give it a try if you like stouts and imperials. This is not as overwhelming as some imperials I have tried.
