I saw her many years ago. I was all of 10 or 11 and my father took me to NYC...it was one of my first really big trips.
We ate at some deli that he loved(not Carnegie) and then went to the show.
I had on a nice blazer and one of dads BIG blue stripped ties...and we had front row seats!!!
It was during one of the 'dialogue' parts that she addressed me directly.
She complimented me on my outfit...mentioned some thing about us having 'front row seats', etc.
I was in awe, she had such a presence.
She then proceeded to ask me about the topic of her next song and did I know what the "Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe" were...and I said 'Railroads'!
...may she rest in peace!
