I'm not placing blame. I honestly have no beef with anyone on this poll. I've dealt with only one (we all saw my f@#$ up, and I owned up) and I think, IMHO, that TexasAero is to blame. His changed his profile since the pass mistake was found, and hasn't posted. I have his phone number, and want to give him a call and see what he says. I want to know what others think before I should do this. I'm pm'ed him and no response. I'll e-mail him next, then I'd moving to calling him. I don't want a flame war, but I want to know what others think.

everything points to your suspect. Call him if you think it will do any good. I wll say this I had some dealings with a guy who seemed pretty reputable about 3 months ago. He agreed to a blind trade so I sent him about 80.00 worth of smokes and he has yet to send me anything. I have called him 3 times. The first call was about a month ago and he said they were going out the next day. The last two calls I just left messages. I guess I just got f$%&ed on that deal.

Yak, you start by saying your not placing blame, then in the very next paragraph, you place blame squarely on TexasAero. I think this is the wrong way to go about this. I think you did right by pm'ing him first, but whoever is in charge of the pass should be pm'ing ALL of the suspects, and then following up with phone calls.

I just find it hard to believe that ANYONE would jeopardize their brotherhood here over a couple of sticks, and I sure don't see what good a poll will do, and could possibly ruin someones good rep for no reason.

Please dont take any of this personal, it surely isn't meant to be, I'm simply giving you my opinion as you asked for it.

Definitely not Scott1966. He'd have too much to lose at too many boards over 2 sticks.
 
This is not a good idea. Make a decision, lay out your facts and contact whomever you need to contact. If you're right then fine, if you're not then step up and apologise.
 
And it would have been taken care of better if you gave facts/links and let the people make a decision. By saying you think it's TexasAero, you slur the results. Hope everything works out with this.
 
You can take a look at the Puff-Puff Pass ~pgs. 16-18 to see what transpired. A lot of the fact checking was done through PM so it may be difficult to publicize. Facts as I know them:

1) texasaero took a picture of the pass showing the sticks were there (it was his first pass so he took a picture)

2) Pass went to Scott1966. Didn't do an inventory.

3) Pass came to me and cigardawg in VA. I did an inventory, fixed some misnumbered cigars and discovered the missing sticks

4) I posted there were two cigars missing from the pass.

5) Brown Devil and I PMed back and forth then I called him on the phone to talk about it.

6) As far as I know, no public statements from either Scott1966 or texasaero on the missing cigars.

7) Texasaero has not been active since April 7 (don't know if this means anything or not, just putting it out there)

These are the indisputable facts as I know them. Anything else that may be known is through PM. BD - feel free to post any of my PMs to you that you feel may be relevant to this. I have nothing to hide and have been open and forthcoming through all of this. Also, if anyone wants to call me, PM me for # - I am more than willing to talk about this or anything else.

P.S. I don't think you can edit polls, but cigardawg should not be on there. BD invited me and I was responsible for this pass. Any suspicion from this should fall on me and me only, not cigardawg.
 
KayakinBoy - just for the record, I PM'd Robert as well as talked with him in the chat room regarding the missing sticks right after they were discovered missing. I had offered a couple of times to send him a couple of sticks as I felt bad that this was his first boxpass and this happened. I told him that I do not have those particular sticks to send as replacements but I would send something good. Robert said not to. I do not like you posting my name up there as you don't know me nor what you are doing. :angry2:

Also, here is some more conspiracy theories for you - I have been in enough of these boxpasses to know that just because someone takes a picture of the contents OR does an inventory of the contents, doesn't mean that they must be 100% innocent.

Use more common sense next time. :angry:
 
I know I'm a newbie and my opinion may not carry much weight with you all, but I am really finding it hard to believe this guy purposely decieved ya'll. I straight up googled (for you FOGs it's a great way to find info on anybody)texasaero's ass and found some good info on him.

Found out he earned a doctorate in aero space engineering and earned his under at Texas/t.u.(makes sense on why he likes tye dye). Wrote some good papers while there and is currently designing diesel engines for planes. Myself being imersed in academia right now, I can tell you these PhD guys value honesty above nothing else. Academic honesty is crucial for the viability of all scientific endeavors. If you pull dishonest stuff your career is over. Usually your behavior at work carries over into your life. Any psych 101 class will tell you that.

I am not saying that a PhD instantly exculpates you from any crime, but to risk so much over so little doesn't make much sense to me. This brotherhood is built on trust and I think this trust should extended until all the facts are in, who knows something bad may have happened to texasaero. Engaging in witchhunts or trials based opinion is not good for the community and makes others look over their shoulders.

I agree 100% that just because texasaero took a picture doesn't mean anything (I just said that to establish that we know the last place they were for sure). And, as you said, just because I did an inventory and discovered the missing sticks doesn't make me innocent. I guess that's why I am so invested in this discussion. I want my name cleared as it should be. I didn't take the sticks and don't appreciate (even though somewhat warranted) being suspected of taking them. As I have said, there were other sticks in there I would much rather have and was able to trade for.

Jingles - I wasn't necessarily meaning Texasaero either - ANYONE who said that they did an inventory OR took a picture along this pass isn't 100% innocent which is why Kayakinboy didn't use common sense and his newbiness prevailed. :rolleyes:

Anyway, as those of you who know me know, I am more of a Fuente/Padron whore :p

I have a PhD as well and that does not have any bearing whatsoever in whether someone would take or misplace sticks from a pass. I doubt any of his peers would care what he does on a cigar board. Academic honesty is one thing, integrity and honesty in life in general is something else. I do agree that the facts should be weighed - that's why I posted the facts as I know them. Unfortunately, they don't help anyone involved and don't shed much light on things (other than clearing those involved up to a point in the pass).

Let the guys who are involved in this and the person who started the pass do the "calling out". You have just put 3 other innocent names into the mix. I see SFG75 is in this pass also, wasn't he gonna start a FUCP Pass ?? Point being, you can find blame in anybody if you look deep enough. You have just given a bad name to all 4 of the people you have listed in this poll.

Oh come on Bk... it isn't that stupid. Most of you think texasaero took the sticks whether by mistake or on purpose and this is just a left handed way of saying so. The fact that he hasn't had anything to say about this isn't encouraging. I've interacted with Scott and Jim and find it hard to believe they would do something like this. BTW, education is not evidence against being a thief... google "Enron" to validate this statement.

And the suspect list, came from the last people who would be able to obtain the stick. Harold took the picture of the stick last, and was discovered missing by jingles. No need to jump all over me there Scott, I've never even thought about you till you jumped back on me in such quick defense.

I've looking threw other boards about Harold, and when the pass lands at MY door step, and I make sure for my own eyes, that the sticks are gone, I'll give him a call. I never thought this thread would go this way and I'm sorry.

Thanks for your thoughts. All I wanted to do was prevent this from happening again to another brothers pass. ;)

And not that I'm taking SFG defense, but do I believe he didn't do anything wrong on that pass, so there's no need to call him on being in it! :whistling:
 
Problem is KB, this should have been handled in private by the members of the pass. It was a bad idea to make this poll. Period. How does it in the least bit help the matter? There was already a thread started by a member of the pass in the Lounge, we didn't need another, let alone a poll that does nothing to help the situation. If you feel like calling someone, call them. You don't need the consensus of the board to do that.
