morning wake up calls

I set my alarm clock 20 minutes fast, then I snooze for 30 minutes before arriving to work 10 minutes late.

Setting your alarm clock forward seems like it only works if someone else does it without my knowing. If I do it, I'll always end up doing the math in my head in the morning, and I'll know exactly when I need to get up to be on time. Then I'll sleep 10 minutes more.

I'm such a slacker.

You hit a point I always mention. Especially to my wife as she does the whole set her clock fast thing. What's the point if you know it's fast? Just like doing math first thing in the morning? Or for that matter whenever you glance at your clock? Just don't understand the point if you know it's fast. Guess it's a psychological thing entirely. Works for her though, so go figure.

1. I am never alone-
I am a single mom or at times I crash wherever I stand due to time or energy levels-

2. I find no desire to explain the nature of my relationships.

But-
I refuse to answer on the basis of self incrimination- :whistling:

Greetings all...back from the Virgin Islands. Wonderful Christmas there and looking forward to ushering in the New Year's here on So. Beach. Hope you all had a great Holiday as well, and wish you all a Happy New Year's.

As for this thread...no lie....every, single day I'm up at 0430 for a pt session. Pound the iron daily, cardio as well, all until about 0730, back to my pad to clean up, have my own concocted power-fruit smoothie, then start the day. Even on the weekends, can't sleep past 0430. Wake up without an alarm clock.

ACK! I remember those days... we had a company commander who was a Marathon runner... at least 10 miles a day or he wasn't happy.

Hope you can keep that up later in life  , I didn't and I sorely regret it at times.

The whole set the clock ahead thing is (at least for me) when I wake up and look I go "OH SH*T!", jump in the shower and by that time i remember that it's ahead and then I relax and start the day.
And since I don't drink coffee I have to have an XS enery drink in the morning and breakfast. It's pretty sad when my coworkers come and say "Have you had breakfast yet?" before they ask me anything else.......

LOL, I still don't understand it. Why would you want to start your day in such a panic?

I haven't needed an alarm clock in years. I wake up between 5:00 and 6:00 every morning, even on weekends. Showered and dressed by 6:30 and usually at work by 7:00.

It helps that I've always been a morning person, plus I typically sleep only about 5 - 6 hours a night. (I do enjoy afternoon naps on the weekends, tho.)

I guess the 0430 thing was instilled from my days in the USMC, but even before that I would get up, at the latest, by 0530. But, have been doing the 0430 thing now for 14 years and bodybuilding/weights for nearly 20 years. So far so good.

Edited for typo

I find that 5-6 hours sleep does me well. If I get any more then 6, I'm sleepy the entire day.

Pretty much wake up by myself at 5:30 everyday. On weekends I try to force myself to stay in bed until 6. I didn't do 3 hours of PT even when I was active but maybe it wasn't as liesurely as MC goes about it now

JK there Devil Dog.

I get up at O'Dark thirty every morning. When you get to be 55 the old bladder just don't work like it used to.

On work days, my alarm goes off at 6am. I workout for 45 min and then down two large (and very strong) cups of coffee before I head for the office.
I am NOT a morning person and it takes a lot to get me going.

Lol. The 3 hours thing is mostly comprised of pounding iron now. An in-grained habit of spending way too much time with the likes of Dave Draper back in Santa Cruz when I used to live there (I blame him, and thank him, in large part, for creating who I've become)...and also from corresponding w/ Bill Pearl and getting great tips from him too. So now, 3 hours is nuttin' and it sure ain't leisurely. ;)

Miami Cubano you are an overachiever- Just know that everyone hates the overachievers!!

wrong word cheekie, i believe they call that successfull.

Why do you believe I selected the wrong word?
I wouldn't hate someone who is successful? I could loathe the overachiever that is skipping rope, while I am still peeling back the covers trying to figure out where I left my clothes..ugh the thought of am just puts me in a bad mood...unless I get woken up nicely

My alarm clock is set for 0530 on weekdays. My internal alarm is set for 0600. Even on weekends, sleeping later for me is 0630-0700. I have been so used to 0630 reville that I am now ruined for a long time. LOL

agreed, my error.
i am lazy as a f*** in the morning...short of a tactical nuke, it is difficult for me to climb out of bed before 0700, in the shower then out by 0800, and in the office at 0900 (yeah, i am a desk jockey with some bankers hours, but hey, someone has to do it). and yes, if properly awoken by the wife, the day is that much better.

For me it gets the adrenaline pumping and like I said I don't drink coffee so I NEED something to get the blood pumping in the morning

Besides it doesn't happen everyday.....
And I am pretty used to getting up between 5 and 530 now so the OH SH*T only happens once in a while.... :D
