morning wake up calls

Well I am always up for suggestions on how to get my a$$ outta bed in the morning.

So far this seems to work for me... :0 :laugh:

I don't know that that statement of yours will get much in the way of suggestions on how to get your ass out of bed, as it might suggestions on getting your blood pumping... :sign:

Wife has her alarm set for 6:00.

I can't remember the last time I even slept that late. (she hits the snooze until 6:40 or so)

Just me and the cats up at that time of the morning. (and the internet) :whistling:

My dog comes in at 7:30 am sharp, jumps on the bed, stands on my chest and licks my face until I wake up. And she doesn't even need to go out - she just wants to play. :D
 
My wife puts my 1 year old in bed with me. he loves to wake me up, and to be honest I love him to wake me up. It's the simple things...
 
Man, I used to have this girfriend that used to wake me up by.....Oh, nevermind.

To be a voice of dissent on this issue...I once had a girlfriend that kind of did the same thing. Would be nice right? Well, this little chicky had a tendency to resemble...let's see...a pencil sharpener would be about right...despite her "best" efforts. Even as kind as she was to try to wake me up as early as I get up, it was a nightmare experience.
 
...weekdays start around here @ 0400 when the wife gets up to go to work. I doze until 0500 when my alarm goes off (wife usually leaves right about then).

Good fresh ground coffee ground the night before in the Braun with a timer produces heavenly smells that will draw me downstairs to begin the day.

I'm lucky I have a wife that makes sure that I get up in the morning. I am the hardest sleeper that I know, and to make it worse on myself I seem to have a mild case of insomnia. I am very seldom in bed before 3am even if I have to be up early. I cannot lay in bed and fall asleep, I need to have the TV on or fall asleep reading. I generally only get 4-6 hours of sleep and there is no alarm clock that I have found that can wake me up, with the exception of morning revelry. So my morning usually starts with my wife more and more earnestly trying to wake me up to the point of her being extremely irratated, especially when I fall back to sleep.
 
I'm usually startled awake... with a 130#, very excited to see me, puppy jamming his head into mine and saying
FEED ME!

works every time, too... and I never get used to it (but I love it)
 
LOTS of COFFEE and a CIGAR at least 1 1/2 hrs before I wake the kids up to get ready for school. That's my school year ritual. During Vacation my daughter makes the coffee and then wakes me up at around 10:30 and then I go and hide in my office with a good cigar.
 
As soon as the morning wood is gone, I get out of bed......
