I really lucked out with a good piece of briar for a predrilled kit. My bud that got the kit for me was a little pissed. He said he hasn't had a piece with grain like that yet, lol!
For the stain, it was the chocolate alcohol based stain from Pimo. I think it was 3 coats with 240, 320, then finally 400 grit before going to tripoli on the wheel.
