Hello everyone. I have been reading these forums for a month or so now, but was unable to register my first time around (for some reason, my isp email never received the activation message on two occasions). This site has helped me make some excellent cigar decisions, so I hope to give back to the community any help that I can.
A little about me:
My name is Jason, currently stuck in a small town on the eastern edge of Indiana. I lived in the Chicagoland until I was about 19, so I strongly detest my current town. My wife was from the small town, but as she supports my cigar habit, I can not argue too much with her about our situation.
I started my cigar smoking when I was 18 in Cancun (minus the occasional gas station cigar prior) with what I presume were fake Cuban Romeo y Julietta and Montecristos. I then tried a few cigars in the states, but did not revive the habit until last year. I went to purchase some cigars for a wedding, and oddly enough, the Tinderbox employee recommended Acid cigars. I picked up a couple of blondies and a Kuba, and was truly impressed with them. Granted, they are non-traditional in terms of taste and creation, so I moved to traditional cigars shortly after.
My current daily favorites are the Punch Rare Corojo rothchilds and Rocky Patel vintage 1992 petite coronas. My ultimate favorite thus far has been the Diamond Crown Maximus churchill #2. Currently in my humidor are (at least the interesting ones):
2 DCM churchill #2s
2 Padron 1926 Maduro #6s
1 Padron 1964 Maduro #6
1 Padron 1964 Natural #6
1 AFuente Hemingway Masterpiece
3 AFuente Hemingway Short Stories
2 Ashton VSG (Not sure what the size is called, but they look like the Punch Champions)
1 random Savinelli
2 Chateau Fuente Sungrown robustos
What is left of a 50 box of the Rare Corojo rothchilds
It is nowhere near what many of you folks have, but as I just started, I am fairly happy with it. My tastes are hovering around maduro wrappers, and anything between a robusto and a churchill (though churchill's are fairly time consuming for me). If I am drinking something with them, it is typically coffee , yerba mate, or gunpowder green tea. On the topic of coffee, I am also a huge fan. My favorite is Organic Sumatra (roasted to a nice dark), followed by Tanzanian Devil (peaberry).
That's all, see you folks around!
