Thanks for the info - I was going to look at upgrading the head unit so I can have Apple Car Play. I used to do some car stereo stuff back in the day, so I'm pretty confident with my abilities with that. Maybe replace the door speakers too. No 12" woofers like I used to have though lol!I've got a 2018 Outback here. I wish I could tell you some things to watch out for maintenance-wise, but the damn thing has been flawless (one significant exception that I'll get into) for me. Besides the normal consumables and routine scheduled maintenance, the only thing I've had to replace has been the compressor motor resistor, a $20 part that took me 10 minutes to swap.
The one big thing to watch out for is moisture accumulating behind the glass of the infotainment (I hate that word so much) touch screen. There was a recall on a bunch of years of Outbacks for this, as it causes ghost inputs and eventual total failure of the touch screen. It got so bad there was a class action lawsuit over it. Mine crapped out while I was still working over the road, so I never was able to get the recall done. But yeah, if you start seeing moisture behind the glass or getting ghost inputs on it, swap that bad boy out ASAP because it only gets worse.
Other than that, it's a great car. And in your case, you definitely can't beat the price. Enjoy it in good health!
And I am required to wear a flannel shirt and clogs while driving at all timesI do like patchouli.
It should be good for my commute, which is key. I drive from here in Modesto to the west end of Tracy for work, so I'm thinking I'll also need some extra obnoxius lights for when I decide to drive home on the back roads...I had a 2015 Outback for about 5 years and 250,000+ miles. The only major issue I had with it was that the transmission went out. Other than that it was a really great vehicle. I actually went from the Outback to the Ascent when we replaced it.
That was also a great vehicle.
I'll have to check with my lesbian niece and see what she drives. My lesbian daughter loves making lesbian Subaru jokes. It makes me laugh every time.![]()
Statistically speaking, it probably is a Subaru. From Jezebel:I'll have to check with my lesbian niece and see what she drives.
That list looks legit
How is Prius not in that list?
If perhaps a bit of of date. That list looks legit
Yeah, that article is about 10 years old. I couldn't be bothered to find a more recent one. My search history is weird enough already. If perhaps a bit of of date.
S-10 was a clue, but then Tracker? They quit making those, what, 20 years ago?
Did you name it Beedog?
One of them will have a nose ring, that's the butch. If they both have nose rings, run.I’m still waiting on the wrap and vanity plates. I was told because it’s a (non wrx) Subaru both will be personally delivered and installed by a delightful lesbian couple in flannel and docs.
