Anyone know of a good cigar for a beginner that has just started smoking for about a year.. I like anything from mild to medium..
any suggestions?

I just posted some suggestion for you in your intro thread. Now most of them are medium or medium to full but I'd still suggest those over milder cigars. They're good and won't be too overpowering for you.

I started with AVO's,usually the XO.
Macanudo portofino was a regular of mine as well.

Now I suggest Flor De Oliva natural...great cheap cigar,I still smoke it in the morning now and then.Bundles are around $34

CAO gold
indian tabac tee pee's,Fire,or classic
Arturo Fuente curly heads are a decent cheapie
ashton classics and cabinets
cohibas
cusano M1's
Fonseca vintage
macanudo vintage
punch grand cru
partagas maduro(medium)
Perdermo champaign(medium)
La Gloria Cubano nat and maduro(mediumish)
Bacarat's are great flavored smokes

Have a look at sampler packs from various shops, some sell by mild, mild to medium, maduro, etc etc

I have another that has a great list in three catagories...mild,medium,full but cannot find the link...you get the idea.

When I was new to cigars I loved A. Fuente shade grown cigars. They are mild and it seems I remember some good flavors.

I say start at the top and smoke nothing but the best, here is my list of medium and mild cigars that are the best on the market...yes it is my opinion, others may disagree, but then they would be wrong. hehe

Diamond Crown Natural

Ashton Cabinet

Ashton Aged Maduro

Arturo Fuente Hemingway

Arturo Fuente Don Carlos

Davidoff

Padron 1964 Maduros

Padron 1926 Maduros

When you are ready for something very strong then go for the Opus X.
