Yesterday we drove 2 and half hours to Idaho to rescue a 1 1/2 year old pup. She is an Irish Setter bread out of Wisconsin.

She is alittle stressed from the move and leaving her other family. She is potty trained, but Woke up to a huge pile of diarrhea on the carpet this morning!!!! It is time to get used to not caring so much about material things!

Buy the Cheap Carpet! Even though my Weimy is housetrained she still leaves me "protest" offerings if I leave her alone too long or don't throw the ball enough with her... But I still wouldn't trade her for anything...especially not now that my daughter is getting old enough to truly enjoy playing with her... Congrats! R

EDIT: Spelling

Congrats what a beautiful pup. I grew up with one and some of the best memories of my childhood have him in them.

My neighbor had an Irish Setter named Cecille...the name just popped into my head when I saw the picture. Congrats!

Man, beautiful pup! Getting a dog is on my short list of things to do after I redeploy. Congratulations on the new family member. :D

Congrats. Beautiful looking dog. My wife and I want to get one or two when we're done with having kids and have a bigger yard. Hopefully she won't take too long to adjust to the new environment and food.

Congrats on the new companion. I have to ask if Her food was changed abruptly. That will definitely lead to messes if the dog hasn't had a very varied diet. Start with 2/3 of her old food for a week, then 1/3 for another. I actually go with 1/4 increments, 3/4, 1/2, 1/4, then all new food.

We actually bought the same food she was having at her other home. The Family also gave us her left overs...so the food has not changed. But if we need to make a change, good advice.

I like her eyes. She is a beautiful dog. Enjoy the company! They are the best listeners.

Congratulations on your new family member. For pets there is no better companion than a dog. They truly do enrich our lives. I have two myself and our kids just love playing with them.

Thanks guys for the well wishes.

Day 1 complete. No shit in the house this time!! Actually came and got me at 8AM to dump it outside! SO I hope this is a sign of things to come. But I am a yard guy, I love it...now there is shit everywhere  But it is worth it; better in the yard then the house I guess.

At least it's easier to scoop the poop and mow the lawn, than to clean the carpets!

It'll take a while but if you work with her on training you can get her to only use one spot in the yard (preferably a low traffic area) and then you won't have any unexpected landmines for you and the family!
