Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum, please see my intro here http://www.cigarpass.com/forumsipb/index.php?showtopic=29974

I have read that it's not good practice to share sources openly or post names of vendors on the open forum. With that said, I'm hoping some of the veteran smokers here can share with me offline their recommendations for good online vendors. I'm not satisfied with my local stores quality and selection. I'm looking for a good retailer, with good costs and better selection and quality. It appears that the best prices you can get are those from countries with duty free and tax free zones, many don't like shipping to the US.

I'm also hoping for some good recommendations on humidors. I'm looking for one under $300, approximately 100 count with a great seal. I'll most likely purchase the humidification system separately.

Thanks everyone...

Welcome to CP.. stick around a bit, read, particpate, become a BOTL and all what you seek will come.

Welcome, and thank you very much for reading the rules. It seems so often lately that people don't have the decency or respect to read our rules and try to adhere to the way we do things around here. For NC (non-cuban) cigars, there are alot of great vendors out there, and many of them post specials here in our Hot Deals section of the board. You can tell pretty quick by our responses whether or not the particular dealer is reputable. As far as online vendors for Habanos, I'm sure with a little time and the opportunity to get to know you people will be more open to sharing sources with you. It's not meant as disrespect or to be offensive, but we do not like to just openly share sources for contraband with brand new members that we have not gotten the chance to know.

And feel free to stop by the Newbie Sampler Trade in the Buy/Sell/Trade forum if you're looking for a great first trade here. Something to get your credibility going a little.

Thanks Gonz.

Also, one more thing...I've been reading lots of good reviews of the Tatuaje cigars, anyone like these? I've been debating on purchasing some God of Fire and some limited Don Carlos cigars, but $40 for a stick seems pretty steep!

Almost everyone on here is a pretty big fan of the Tatuajes. You can't go wrong with the brown label. My personal favorite is still probably the Havana Cazadores (the Noellas being a close second), and they're much less than $40 a stick. A number of vendors that post in the Hot Deals forum carry Tatuajes, and as Gonz said, you can tell who's a stand up vendor vs who isn't by our responses.

I haven't really looked around for them (because I already have all I will need), but wasn't aware there was any vendors that had broken up one of the Don Carlos 30th Anny humidors and was selling singles. If you've found one, and you trust them go for it, since these won't ever be around again.

And as far as the Tatuaje's go, Holts has a couple samplers that you might want to check out.

I saw that Newbie Sampler area, I think I'm going to give that a try. I've been trying to build up a nice selection of cigars, the problem I have is that I'll buy a few "good" ones and then keep some stock of casual, non special occasion, possibly quick smokes, but I always seem to want to smoke the "good" ones first. The LOML is getting tired of me buying my limit of OpusX cigars and smoking them instead of the cheaper cigars, but oh well...besides, as far as she knows those $15 sticks only cost me $5! :)

I haven't seen anyone selling the Don Carlos 30th in singles, but a place I order from in Chicago sells them in 3 packs, $120 for the 3. They also sell the Forbidden X in singles, been thinking about those as well...just pretty pricey!

Tatuaje = damn good cigars

Cojonu. Get some, smoke some. Smile. :D

Wilkey

Be sure and check out Holt's aging room for a good deal on a humidor. They had some this weekend, but they may be sold out already. Just keep checking back and you will find a great deal over there.

Thanks for the recommendation on Holts...I picked up a couple samplers, a close out humidor (been wanting to check out a Savoy), for the price, it will save me the trip to Chicago and a nice new cutter...will update after I try the cigars...
