Onyx - Threw it away before lighting

Brew gave me my first Onyx and I liked it... didn't smell so funky to me.

I'm dissapointed to hear all the negative about the Onyx Reserve. Honestly, for me it is one of my go-to cigars... It's reasonably priced and I think it is a great every-day type of smoke. Anyone who wants to donate, I'll take 'em off your hands.

I just saw this and I enjoy an Onyx Reserve especially when I'm golfing. Have never been disappointed with them and I have been smoking them for a while now.

Hmm... I pulled out an Onyx Robusto last night to smoke since this is the third thread I've seen in the past few days talking about Oynx. No ass smell, mind you, and I usually really like these cigars, but this one... nothing. Just smoke... absolutely no flavor at all. I don't know if it was me (bit of a cough), the scotch or the cigar, but I'm leaning towards the cigar.

I've got others that I'll still smoke, though.

I've never liked these. Sometimes they smell funky and other times, just not interesting. For my money, I've had much better luck with Mayorga Maduro and Sancho Panza Double Maduro.

Second on that Sancho Panza. As discussed in that other thread about these Onyx, I gave up on them years and years ago. Much better alternatives out there for the money.

The Punch Double Maduro Rothschild is a another good one in this price range.

I've had SP's and was gifted a Mayorga Maduro. Not "bad" but honestly I'll stick to Padron 2K's as my inexpensive "go to" smoke....never had a bad one, be it a maddie or a regular wrapper. Let 'em rest for a year, and they are very good....
