Just smoked one and oddly enough it kicked my a$$... ???

Never had a #5 but the #4 I had got my attention. The lil Opus are little bastids. Hope you enjoyed though, because that's all that matters.

I find the smaller ones like your Perfecxion #5 (4 7/8" x 40) to be the strongest of the line. On the other end, the Opus X "A" are probably the mildest.

That's what I've heard from multiple people. Which is fine with me because the B&M gets the small ones, not the bigger ones.

I like having a variety of sizes on hand. Sometimes I don't feel like a smoking a strong Opus X so I grab a Reserva D'Chateau or a Double Corona. Other times I'll enjoy a Perfexcion #5, #4 or a Fuente Fuente. There is certainlly a noticable difference in strength depending on which size you choose to smoke.

For me overall, the Reserva D'Chateau is my favorite.

Not able to go into that depth yet. I really like the #4, and the FFOX. I have a Reserva D'Chateau that I can't wait to try.

Got quite a "buzz" off this cigar. Finally starting to wear off. Really nice smoke, great flavors. Not something I'd want to smoke often, but nice once in a while. Would go great with a good Stout...

Actually I got it from here. Either way, kind of humerous. Never had a strawberry beer, but I have had that Sam Adams Cream Stout and it goes well with cigars I must say.

Here is the description of it for those of you who have not had it:
Samuel Adams® Cream Stout is a true cream stout, balancing body and sweetness with the natural spiciness of grain and hand selected English hops. Our Brewers use generous portions of roasted chocolate and caramel malts as well as unroasted barley to impart a fullness of body, a roasty malt character and rich, creamy head. Its dark mahogany color make it almost as easy on the eyes as it is on the palate.

Taken from here. Go to the Brewmasters collection, it can be found there.

LOL didn't even notice that thread until you pointed it out to me. Man, that must have been a long time ago! Haven't had a strawberry beer for a long time. :)

The SA Cream sounds really good though. I'll pick up a 6 pack next time I'm at BevMo. Sounds like a good blend.

It has a really thick stout quality about it but at the same time is very sweet and rich. It's like a black and tan almost, but not. I find it to be a complex taste but a great compliment to a cigar.

that's good, as the xXx remains my favorite.

not tried the #5 (yet)

For some reason, I've always had bad luck with those. Since the ring is a 49 on those, they are nowhere near as strong as a Perfexcion #4 or #5. The strength is more a function of ring gauge rather than length.

FINALLY!!! As far as I can remember, you are the only other person I know of who feels the same way as I do about the XXX. Everyone else seems to rave about them. Don't get me wrong, I like it and all, but just not my favorite vitola. Everyone always talked about it being an "ass-kicker" but it just never does it for me. The #5 hasn't knocked me out yet, but I think that is because it is so short. The Petit Lancero on the other hand, has put me in my place before. I think my favorite sizes so far are the Super Belicoso, Fuente Fuente, and the PL. The longer ones like the DC and the RdC are good, just a bit harder to come by for me.

Had the same thing happen to me last year...needed to drink anything with sugar!

They smaller size cigars alway get me.

Glad you enjoyed it!

Good smoke. I'll grab one from the humidor on the rare occasions that I want to get my ass kicked. It certainly gets the heart rate racing.

Fuggin' sissies. This is my favorite morning cigar

Actually, you gave it to me. :) Thanks for letting me try this smoke, Sam. Haven't had many cigars do that to me, but it was definitely tasty.

Thanks,
Rod

My favorite is the No.4. Lots of flavor. I keep a stash of the 4's and 5's for short smokes. PL's are good too and I got a box just sleeping right now(sealed and intact) :p . My boxes of xXx's and A's are sleeping next to them. But for power, I would vote for the xXx.
