Padilla Miami 8&11 Lancero

I finally got a hold of one of these, it was a lancero and cost $11. This is truly an awesome cigar. The rumors are true, it's better than the Tatuajes, at least judging from my limited experiences.

It was a very nice looking cigar, nice deep brown color and good oils. The smoke tasted very rich, creamy and sweet right off, no harshness whatsoever in this cigar. I may be crazy but I think I like these even better than the Padron anniversaries. I did have some uneven burn issues but that is probably because I smoked it immediately after purchasing. I couldn't wait, I was too curious about this one. With some humidor time this may not be an issue.

Highly recommended. If you like Nicaraguan cigars I think you'll love this one.

A Padilla Miami Lancero ? Now that would be a drool-inducing object... Where do you get a hold of one of these ? I don't believe the Lancero is listed as regular production line at some BM's as well as Internet shop yet. Tell us more about this treasure... :)

I got it from a shop called Cigar KIng in Skokie, IL. They have all those "Pepin" cigars. He even makes a cigar exclusively for the shop. I thought the lancero was a regular production cigar, I'm confused now. I'm going to have to go back and pick up some more, I'll try to find out.

I belive that it is a regular production. The the $11 price tag is MSRP.

Nice review. I am looking forward to trying some from this line.

Thank you for the great review, Padilla Miami comes in 6 sizes:
Robusto, corona, churchill, Lancero, salomon and torpedo.

All made in Miami.

Pepin and I set out to make a cigar that had body was complex and balanced.

I hope you enjoy them. They are made by only nine Cuban rollers here in Miami all who made Cuban cigars in Cuba.

Regards,
Ernesto Padilla

OK, gonna have to find some of these. Been hearing too many good things about them. How is a man supposed to slow down on buying cigars if you people keep reviewing things? And more to the point, people like Ernesto keep making cigars to buy. :p

All kidding aside, I love coming on here, reading a review, and getting excited about finding a cigar. Does not happen to me as often as it did when I first started smoking, but I'm glad it still happens.

Just picked up a Torpedo, the only size my B&M carries at the time. Good looking smoke that I'm looking forward to torching.

Hey, James.

Bob (Aficianado's Smoke Shop) will be carrying these. He has the robustos at the new store, but I have not seen them at the downtown store. He opens on the 3rd of February, so they will be available then.

I am looking forward to trying one of these as well.
