Padrón's on the way...

While I was down in Puerto Rico recently, I found a cigar shop that had both the Padrón 1964 Anniversary (maduro) and the Padrón 1926 serie (maduro). I had never smoked (or heard of, to be honest) either before, but the tobacco smelled so wonderful, I picked up all they had left: about 6 of the 1926 serie, and 18 of the 1964 anniversary.

Needless to say, after smoking them, I found them to be absolutely wonderful, and ever since I've been looking for a decent source of buying them both online. Given their limited availability, it is tough to find them, and if you do find them, the price is often inflated way higher than it should be.

I'm happy to say that I have on the way:

-- a box of Padrón 1926 Serie, maduro, #9's
-- a box of Padrón 1964 Anniversary, maduro, exclusivo
-- a box of Padrón 1964 Anniversary, natural, exclusivo
-- 4 of the 1926 Padrón Serie samples (as presents)

It's a lot of money, but I got excellent prices on all of these, and I'll be enjoying these cigars for years to come. I can't wait to have 'em in my humidor.

I've had the Maduros before, and I absolutely love them -- I've never had the naturals though.

I was really happy -- I've seen boxes of the Padrón 1928 Serie #9 selling for $750 a box... I got the box for $480 (which is still $20 a cigar, but at least it isn't grossly inflated). The Padrón 1964 Anniveraries were both well under $300 a box ($269/229 for the Maduro and Natural, respectively). The samplers were ~$79 a pop.

I'm sure it's possible to get them cheaper, but I had a heck of a time finding them at all, and I found many places that were selling the box of Padrón #9's I got for well over $700.

I look forward to trying the natural and the maduro side by side and comparing them. I don't have enough room in my humidor for all of these cigars though... doh.

Yes, brother RicMac25 is a BIG Padron fan and I did my darnedest to find some of these for him as I was his Secret Santa this year.

I FINALLY got my hands on some '64's & some '26's and WOW talk about great cigars!!

They're a little on the expensive side for me AND the fact that they are very hard to come by but I guess that makes them that much better when I light one up on occasion.

Those are truly awesome sticks. The few I have I hold onto dearly. I don't have the heart to set fire to these beauties.

I've been buying my Padrons from Little Anthonys Cigars. Their prices are by far the best for the 2000s, 3000s, 4000s etc. www.lacigar.com Call them on their 800 number and speak to John, the owner, and he will tell you the specials. I am just a happy customer, no affiliation what so ever.
