PAM '64 Diplomatico

In my quest to bring my Humi to respectable levels, I decided to bid on a box of PAM '64 Diplomaticos.

I ended up winning the auction for $307 + $6 for S&H.

I've seen a range anywhere from $280 - $320 for a box of this particular cigar, so I don't think I overpaid.

Any thoughts?

Not a bad deal by any means but you are right, there are better deals to be had. Next time contact Gabriel (gmiranda33) as he can usually beat any price out there on PAM's.

I hope that it's actually a whole box and not a single or fiver. That place has some tricky postings every once and awhile.



They are available for less, but if you're happy with the deal...

But are the vendors offering them for $279 respectable? I saw it available at this price through the Cigar Parlor. But I personally will not deal with a vendor that I cannot speak to on the phone.

I totally agree. The main point is that you got em. As long as you enjoy them and the box isn't beetle infested, thats all that matters. Are you really going to argue over a few dollars in difference in pricing?

Besides, next time thats what the autobid function on cbid is for.

Every activity in life has a learning curve. The only thing we can do to better this curve is be brutally honest with ourselves. That way we learn as quickly as possible.

That being said, you are still gonna do the snoopy dance when they hit the doorstep!

Philosophical point of argument. The phrase "brutal honesty" is commonly used as a cover for the tactless and inconsiderate delivery of perceived truth. In other words, subjective personal observation. This variety of lazy insensitivity can be found in abundance in today's society.

Honesty parallels truth in the sense that it either is or is not. If it is not, then we need not be concerned so much with the content as why it was delivered. If it is, then it is by definition that which is and thus statement of fact.

Trust me, I'm all about honesty...I'm my own biggest critic!

One of my self admitted shortcomings is how quickly I pull the trigger on purchases. Instead of looking for the "best" price, I sometimes take the "first" price.

As I begin to understand the more reputable dealers, I will make better decisions. That said, at the end of the day, I've made worse decisions in life than overpaying $25 on a purchase of consumables. :laugh:

You did just fine, plus maybe there is a $ 25.00 bill at the bottom of the box - Dude I often times beat myself up over small stuff like this - Life is way too short - enjoy the sticks and forget about the extra $ 25.00 you paid.

It just occurred to me that what I wrote above could easily have been interpreted as a dig on you. I want to make clear that this is not the case. It was not at all clear that what I wrote about brutal honesty was targeted at a different context than was in your post. I was referring to people who think they are doing you a favor by being "brutally honest" when what they were really doing was all of the stuff I was knocking.

So, if I offended you, then please understand this was not my intent. I apologize for any misunderstanding or hard feelings that may have come about as a result of my rather imprecise post.
