About 5 pounds worth, took me an hour almost to pick them. This is about 10% of whats growing in the yard. :D

mmm mmm! Scotch Bonnets (Habanero) and red chili's!!

It's funny to break one of those open and rub it around the rim of a glass of some unsuspecting victim!!:sign:

Nice!

My whole patch went to pot(no...not like THAT)...because Iwas out f work for 6-7 weeks.

No Hotties for me! :(

Enjoy!

I'll probably make some powders, some hot sauce, pickle some of them, dry some more, use some for jam, and maybe make a ristra. LOL

E, those are awesome. What kinds are in that picture? Are the long, thin, red ones Chili de Arbols? Also, I've had an ongoing argument (friendly one, mind you) with a coworker that Scotch Bonnets and Habaneros are the same thing. He contends they are seperate, though related, peppers. Any insight (or worksight for that matter)?

The long thin red ones are cayennes. The scotch bonnet and habanero are 2 different types of peppers (but very similar), both are pictured in the photo I took. The scotch bonnets are the orange ones that have the weird looking bottom, and the habaneros are the ones kind of shaped like lanterns. There are Caribbean red habaneros in the photo also. The shorter green and red chilis are serranos.

Im getting ready to do another harvest this weekend also. I think im gonna need a ton of the red ones to make a significant amount of powder. :D

Must be nice to live in a place with a growing season longer than 90 days.

Doc.

Awesome!!! I'm jealous.

I grow peppers here every year but never get a crop like that. I do get enough to last us through the winter though.

I really need to get better soil. The native alkali and caliche clay soil we have here does not promote robust vegetable growth so I never get large plump peppers.

I think next year I will do some major excavation in the garden and buy some good rich soil to replace the native crap. Maybe that will work.

Sucks when you have to buy "good" dirt eh? :p

I am getting married in 2 weeks and I registered for one of those aerogardens. I want to do the pepper one that they have really bad!

E that is beautiful!! Addy in profile....you can send some to me along with those Casa Fuentes we discussed a while back!
