I know this sounds a bit paranoid, But I think it would be a good Idea if we didn't have our home address's and such in our profile.. Just a though to be a bit more safe.
Anybody attempting to rob me gets met at the entry (inside the door) by my two associates: Mr. Glock 23 (with 11 rounds of .45 caliber hollow points) and Mr. Colt CAR-15 (with the pre-ban bought 30 round magazines - filled with 27 rounds of .223 FMJs so as not to wear out the springs in them).coventrycat86 said:Doesn't scare me in the least. Maybe I'm missing something but how do you feel less safe if your address is in your profile?
It's your profile, just take it out and only give it to those you want. I don't see the problem. ???Backslide420 said:I know this sounds a bit paranoid, But I think it would be a good Idea if we didn't have our home address's and such in our profile.. Just a though to be a bit more safe.
That can be done by Rod if he so chosesTreamayne said:Good thoughts. However, what I would rather see is tht the profiles can only be accessed by a logged in registered user. Then they shouldn't pull up in web searches and, at least, wouldn't be accessible to just anyone if they did.
You stole my point! The only difference is, perhaps, if you are consistantly writing about how many of those felony, capital-punishment, offensive ISOMs you own. In that case, you'd probably be better off not having all of your personal info listed. For me, however, not owning any myself (ya' hear that, coppers?), I don't care.SFG75 said:I'm not really certain what the big difference is between having your name and address in the phone book...
But who cares? Go to whitepages.com and type in your name. Did your address come up? How is typing your name into a search engine different from a person typing your name into whitepages.com. Or calling information?PuroBrat said:I did a Google Search one day on my name "michael grauman" and the results of that search showed my home address, as big as day. The link it referred to was my CP profile. I took it out of my profile and within a day or two, I no longer came up in a google search.
Paranoid? I think Cautious is a better word. ???
Ah but you see, that is just the point. My name in Whitepages.com does not net you my address, I am not in there. If you call information you will get nothing either. my number is unlisted.blair said:But who cares? Go to whitepages.com and type in your name. Did your address come up?
