"Pop" sound?

Does everyone hear that when opening a new tab, setting, or thread on CP? If not, dang it! If so, is there a way to disable that little popping sound?

I don't hear a "pop" sound, but I'm definitely hearing a "snap" and "crackle".

No. But the Instant Messenger pop-up is there, though never used.

You should put it offline. If you click the gear in the top of the Chat box uncheck the "available to chat" line. That should stop the pops.
