When I received my proposal it was quite romantic...a nice brunch first and a romantic walk in the forset..the ring was under a rock near a cool stream and he had me close my eyes and he brought it out and set it down on a stone! I go in for romance big time! We gals love that stuff!

Hmmm... What do you want to know? Might get shunned for saying this one, but we're pretty young, I'm 29, Fran's 28. We've been together for 3 years and I can't see myself without her at all. Hmmm... She works as an investment manager and I'm a computer dork :p We don't live together because of her religious beliefs (super duper catholic. I'm catholic too, just not as rigid.. Actually no where near as rigid :p)

We do A LOT together. From just bumming around NYC (not so much anymore), to hanging out at home (either one- she's still living at home, I live about 10 blocks away), to going into NJ to visit the malls, go to the beach, whatever. I don't even know what to tell ya about that part, we just 'go' and where ever we end up, there it is.

I was also thinking about the whole Central Park/caraige(ugh spelling) ride thing, but it doesn't sound right to me anymore. Both of our feelings changed after 9/11, she used to work in 7 world trade (last building that fell), and we both lost a lot of friends, so the City hasn't been the same, it's just a place we work.

Hmmm, as far as romance goes, I'm a sap for all that stuff. I cook, so Friday nights are stay in night most of the time. Candles, flowers, dinner.... Porn... LOL, uh, no. No porn, just seeing if you were still reading :p

Fran enjoys the finer things, to me, I'm happy with whatever I've got (outside of cigars that is). Not that's she's high maintanence, she just likes better things than I do.

Does that help? I'm kind of thinking that blending everyone's ideas into one weekend might work, but I don't know. Never asked someone to marry me before :p Nerves are shot. Asking her mom (her dad died when she was nine, he was killed in a construction accident) for her blessing was pretty much a 3 throw up night LOL.

I dunno, I just want to do it right.

ok got cha Tony. This is what you do, she likes the finer things... get the bottle of vino that Firestorm suggested and make reservations at a fancysmancy resturaunt, set it up with the resturaunt to have the bottle with them before you get there. Have the waiter bring you the bottle and present it to you and your soon to be fiance. She reads, you pull out the ring she cries and says yes (you get on your knee she will eat that up) the diners applaude you eat a great meal top it off with the carriage ride BOOM there you go.

Then you split the prize with me and Firstorm BWAAAAAAAAAA

Take her to a ball game (Yankees, Mets whatevah). Get a box of Cracker Jack before the game open it up and put the ring in the prize packet...  you can figure out the rest.  
If you call the stadium and tell them what seats your in and what inning you want to pop the question I'm sure they be more than happy to run your message on the Jumbotron Big Screen or whatevah they use.

Fran's hobbies consist of:

Changing the look of my apartment so it fits her 'This place is no longer a GUY place' LOL

She loves to read
Loves being outside
I'm teaching her how to cook, so she's gotten into it a bit with magazines, books, new kitchen toys....
Dancing
movies

Those are her basics.. She's into so many things, I forget sometimes what she's into this week :p

Oh and Sibe, Fran hates cigars, but she's actually ok with me smoking, so she's a keeper :p heheheheh

K, dinner, homecooked by moi. I ask Fran to go to the wine cellar *cough closet* to pull out a bottle of wine. She reads something that I haven't come up with to put on the bottle, but somewhere on there it says, "So when you turn around and see me on one knee, I hope you'll say yes". Corny, but it'll hit her like a ton of bricks, I know my girl :) Then hopefully she doesn't pass out, ring on finger, hopefully dinner happens and not too much crying on her part, and then IT begins... *stomach clenching like mad*

So... Whadya think?

*going to mix some drinks to calm nerves... This is still months away, but I'm so damn nervous my hands are shaking*

Sounds great Tony just remember to have a plan for the rest of the evening. Actually the first hour or so after shes gonna call about 100 people so be ready. Good luck keep us posted.

As long as I don't keel over from nerves, I want to ask her in Sept, but I have a feeling it's going to be a lot sooner :) It'll have to be after the wine comes in, but I'll keep ya updated.

After sitting and writing what I wanted to do, I've been a wreck and I haven't even done anything yet :p

Once this nerve wracking part is over, does it get any easier? LOL...
