Went to the post office to mail off a few things , hint hint, and my xikar cutter, the springs had broken. It would not hold itself open. I saw a big sign on the front door saying "ABSOULTLY NO CELL PHONES ALLOWED INSIDE". Can anyone here explain that to me. I know I should have asked a worker but I saw the sign on the way out. Alot of good that did huh?

Explain it to you?
OK. I'll give it a whack:

"ABSOULTLY": I take by this that the person who wrote the sign is an idiot who does not spell well OR did not use spell-check before posting a sign. It is most likely that they meant ABSOLUTELY, but I could be wrong.
"NO CELL PHONES ALLOWED INSIDE" In most uses of the modern English language, I would take this portion of the sign to mean that they do not wish to permit individuals to take cell (also called mobile or wireless) phones inside the premises.
It is also possible that what the sign-writer meant was no cell phone USAGE was allowed inside the building.

Hope this helps!

Damn, I wish I'd written that. LMAO

Shooter,
I in no way meant to call you an idiot, and didn't even realize that it could be seen that way, I thought the sign was spelled wrong. Sorry if it was seen as a personal jab.
I was just poking fun.

welcome to the board CC Jr.! enjoy your stay!

None taken man. It takes more than that.. :D Just saying thanks.. I tend to type slower than I think. Plus spelling doesn't play a big role in my job, everthing I deal with is shrunken down to five and three letter words. and radio freqs. But lots of math. EVERYTHING is abbreviated. I was just wondering why you couldn't have a cell phone in the post office. I mean I can understand a hospital, but a post office. I must be missing something here. As far as airplanes, you can hear cingular phones in the headsets up front and it's really annoying, as far as making the plane act up I can't tell you how many times I have left my on.

Ouch! I'm not sure how I feel about that remark (nor how Bill would!)

Just having some fun.

Oh, and Rob, If you look on your keyboard, next to the "Z" key, there is a button labeled "Shift." If you press and hold that key while typing the first letter of a sentence, you will notice that the letter becomes capitalized. there is another next to the / key for ease of use by either hand! Good luck with the rest of your posts!!!

Well that's good to hear. I realzied I left mine on...right when we landed yesterday. Ooops.

Nope all it will do is run your battery down. Quickly. The phone puts out a stronger signal trying to communicate with a tower and will drain your battery. But for some reason when a cingular phone is left on you can hear it trying to communicate with a tower and it drives me insane. Sounds like a morse code.
