Went to the post office to mail off a few things , hint hint, and my xikar cutter, the springs had broken. It would not hold itself open. I saw a big sign on the front door saying "ABSOULTLY NO CELL PHONES ALLOWED INSIDE". Can anyone here explain that to me. I know I should have asked a worker but I saw the sign on the way out. Alot of good that did huh?
Explain it to you?
OK. I'll give it a whack:
"ABSOULTLY": I take by this that the person who wrote the sign is an idiot who does not spell well OR did not use spell-check before posting a sign. It is most likely that they meant ABSOLUTELY, but I could be wrong.
"NO CELL PHONES ALLOWED INSIDE" In most uses of the modern English language, I would take this portion of the sign to mean that they do not wish to permit individuals to take cell (also called mobile or wireless) phones inside the premises.
It is also possible that what the sign-writer meant was no cell phone USAGE was allowed inside the building.
Hope this helps!
