Your prayers a deeply coveted, my 72 year old mother came to visit over the weekend and was just totally out of her mind speaking complete gibberish. She was very sluggish and would talk about things that had nothing to do with anything going on around her. She would talk as if she were somewhere else. She thought we were on a road trip to Louisiana to watch a baseball game. Then she would be talking to us in a completely normal tone of voice but she wasn’t saying any words, just gibberish.

Of course an ambulance was called, we were sure she had suffered a stroke. But as it turns out she was severely dehydrated and overmedicated; we almost lost her. She was dehydrated because her home healthcare providers were pumping pain meds into her like candy, essentially keeping her under a chemical restraint. The combination of excessive narcotics and dehydration had her totally loopy. It took four days before she started making any sense.

Please lift her up in your prayers; this poor 72 year old great grandmother is now in detox and then rehab. When she gets out she will, of course be coming to live with me.

As for the persons responsible for this, please pray that they will repent for what they’ve done and that I will continue to handle this responsibly.

Oh my god Mike, that is terrible.

Prayers sent for your mother and try not to beat the crap our of the attendants (although they deserve it).

Prayers being sent. Hope she starts to feel better. As for medication, I would say 90% of people over 65 are over medicated.

Of course I will pray for you. I wish you and your family the best

Prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. Our family recently went through a tough time with my father who had many moments of dementia when he was totally not himself, I know how you feel.

You have my best wishes. I can somewhat relate. When my dad was recovering from pneumonia, he was so spaced out on fentanyl he ahd no idea what was going on for 10 days.

Ironically, a nurse crushed oxycotin into his IV and OD'd him. The narcon they administered took him out of the funk within 24 hours.

It painful not being able to recognize the people you love.....

Stay with it pre....

Thoughts and prayers, Pre.

When your mother is better, I hope that you'll be able to resolve the situation of that home health care attendant in the best way that presents itself.

Wilkey

Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
I hope that the people responsible did this out of ignorance and stupidity, and not out of actual malice and evil intent. The thought of treating another person, expecially and elder deserving of our respect, like this intentionally and knowingly makes me absolutley sick.

Prayers for a speedy recovery and healthier and happier times for your family.

As the oldest of four kids, and with a mother who we love dearly approaching 80, this is many folks worst nightmare.

The very best wishes and thoughts to you and your family during this transitional time. I hope your mothers health improves quickly.

Regards - B.B.S.

Ugh...I hate to hear about stuff like this and I'm hearing it more and more as time passes by.

My thoughts are with you abd your family. Stay strong, bro.

Best wishes sent your way. I have an 89 year old Grandmother who has not been doing well lately and I can understand what you're going through.
