I picked up this set and now I am chomping at the bit to try one of the three cigars that came along. I haven't found any thorough reviews on either the lancero, BBMF, or Chateau that were included. Anyone know where I can find something. I like to know a little bit about what I am smoking when they are cigars of this caliber.

oh, and don't get this for the cd...75% of it was unbearable.

I think that most people that are getting these sets are letting the cigars age a bit before they smoke them. That's why you are not finding many reviews.

I liked the CD! :D

Ditto and ditto.

I have smoked a lancero before...they are incredible. The best Opus I've had to date. Of course, that's just MHO.

I thought the CD was great...but then I really like Arturo Sandoval.

I know that Smokyballs has smoked the entire BBMF set, and MrPeat has at least smoked the BBMF out of one. Maybe they can shed some light on this. :whistling:

I Ditto Dawg's "ditto"! Loved the CD. Traded for it. I don't even own the set. :D
Having said that, if the lancero is as good as the petite lancero watch out!

Now that is something I would really love to hear about. I never purchased the set as I thought it is more for collecting as well as a bit overpriced for what you get. That being said I just might pick up one if the reviews are what I expect them to be, as I have seen many of those packages still available with some additional discounting.

Ok, sorry to all of the Auturo Sandoval fans ;)

With the discounts I really did buy this just to smoke it. It isn't hard to find another (if it is worth it).

One quick question. When and if I age them, should I leave them in the tubes?

As for leaving them in the tubes, this was discussed here before and I don't think there was a consensus decision on this..I'd recommend popping the cap off and leaving em in the tube.

I've smoked 3 of those sets. Everything in the set is ready to smoke. The BBMF is outstanding! We had alot of them come in with the tickler damaged. We called Prometheus and they said they would take them back but they wouldn't replace them. The owner was going to have me return them. I told him that if we kept them that I would buy them all. I love my job and my discount! If you want a cd we have them in the shop for $8. I would be more than happy to ship anyone out.
Edit because I took care of everybody I can!

Yeah, my tickler  was in pieces as well, but I did't get it for it's looks. Well that's it. It is superbowl weekend...my Steelers are gonna win (the last time they did i was still in the womb...seriously) and I am just gonna go through the whole set. Thanks for all of the feedback. I will post reviews unless the Steelers lose..then I will be hiding from the bookies! ;)

Whoa, I just finished the Lancero! Simply fantastic. let me get rid of the spins and I will attempt a review.

The Reserva d'Chateau is just that -- a regular release Opus X Reserva d'Chateau in a tube. Expect it to taste like... a Reserva d'Chateau! :) The other two are just Opus X blend cigars in different vitolas; the shape of the cigar certainly influences the taste, even if the same tobacco is used.

Expect the Lancero to be a very enjoyable smoke that can go from smooth to very spicy, depending on how fast you smoke it (and thus how hot it burns). The BBMF will start off very mild and round, but when the "teaser" ligero inside starts to go up... a nice little spice smack, and a very even, enjoyable finish.

Smoked the BBMF, but should not have. One of the best Opus I have ever smoked, anyboy have a box of 25. :)
