I see nothing wrong with Cliff starting the thread with the tazer video. What was completely out of line was Panatela's post. He should be banned for spewing that type of garbage here.

I disagree... Any time an officer puts someone down wether it is a lethal or non-leathal force, it is a traumatic expierience. For those who have never seen this before, it can be quite a profound experience. It is not something I would post here. But this is because I know exactly what it entails.

I feel the same about the taser and the other "racist" video. Yes the guy in the video was racist but I think for the most part folks around here took them BOTH for what they were funny.

Thanks Bill and yes that dickwad did take it to a whole nother level...

I didn't view the tazer video as racial or the like. I think pretty much that my generation is numb to all the graffic images, etc. because of the movies and the numerous vidoes on the web. The tazer video was meant to be funny, well, because it was. It was not controversial in the least bit. She disobeyed and her a$$ got whacked :laugh:

Now I think the racist video was TFF! Yes the guy was racist and yes it was funny to see them scatter. This is not a cigar room and it is for general topics.

I have had to use force more times than I would like to have. I have been in all out fights for my life. Each time it took a toll on me. I agree with Emo. Use of force is no laughing matter. Unless you have experenced it for yourself you have no idea.

Having been on the other side of that video, I don't think it is funny. I am Mexican, and I have worked jobs that "pay daily". Have you ever worked a labor job like that? Honestly, these people are not a drain on the US resources. Sure, immigration has to earn their pay. But people like this are working to support families, not drug addictions. They are doing the work that Americans find too low. Most Americans would rather go on unemployment and food stamps than bust their ass. But these guys aren't a drain on American resources. That is pure bullsh!t

I had to do day labor with a wife and 2 kids. I did this while an E-2 in the military while collecting WIC and foodstamps. So before taking for granted the freedom you have to post stuff like this, take a minute to think how good you really have it.

As you can see by 2 states, that illegal immigration is not just a "poor little ole us" syndrome. You say they do the jobs that Americans won't do and that is plain crap. There is a national minimum wage in this country for a reason and they by pass it and undercut prices which destabilizes the whole economy.

That is exactly my point. But on top of that, Californias woes wether economically or politically can not be pointed ad illegal immigrants. Poor governership and too much whining by the left and right wing is Cali's demise. Not that my state is better.

I should have added I really didn't like the "Racist" video at all. Clearly it was staged but I really didn't find the humor in it and would prefer not to see things like that posted here. I also thought Lumby's thread was inappropriate too.

Getting back to Emo's original point in the first post in this thread, I agree more than disagree with him that these types of threads/topics are best avoided here. Originally I would have figured that the tazer video should not have caused a problem but it did (Panatela's completely ignorant and way over the top post) and Emo's right, being tazered (even though the woman forced the police officer to use the tazer) really isn't something that we need to yuk it up about here.

I pretty much agree with emodx. Of course some videos are simply funny because of a joke or something (eg. funny commercials). I laughed at the immigrant video, but I can understand someone else didn't. And the woman who got tazed, well to be honest I would probably not have had as much patience as that cop ??? But for someone who hasn't seen such a thing before, I guess it can be shocking. No pun intended (seriously!). I didn't laugh at the tazer video though. I just thought the cop did what he was supposed to do.

I agree with atuck too. I can see how serious some of you are about politics. Two BOTLs shouldn't let something like political views destroy a long friendship. Not worth it Not knowing something about someone can keep both a lot happier :thumbs:
