Recommend a free site for stock research

Hi Guys,

I was wondering if any of you might be able to recommend some sites where one can go to get free, basic information on stocks and mutual funds. My dad has been getting the Wall Street Journal and he tells me they are curtailing their stocks/funds coverage in the daily paper.

All he really needs is stock prices, recent financial information (not deep, even public info is fine), and maybe be able to track prices over a period of time. He's interested in stocks as well as mutual funds.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

During some Finance Classes we used http://www.fool.com, worked pretty good

www.fool.com is a great website. It really provides insight into a variety of investments.

A little sifting is necessary, but Yahoo! finance (http://finance.yahoo.com/) captures a great deal of current and historical stock and mutual fund data.

I think Yahoo Finace does a great job on the basic finacial info for stocks, funds, options if you do some digging on that site there is also a screener to find investments that suit your criteria as well as a lot of other usefull info. I used to play around with te markets for a lond time so if you or your dad have any questions just PM me or give a call I would be glad to help out :thumbs:

I use Yahoo Finance, especially for Mutual Funds.
