still not your business cbd
not a torch.

that is the biggest restriction,
i like the classiness of a nice yellow flame, not one that can cut through 1/4in metal.

also, anyone ever use their car lighter for cigars?
i just realized this just sitting here at 6am, but unfortunatly, i can't try it myself because i'm out of cigars.

wouldn't you get a pretty even burn going?

If you take the time to learn how to use a torch it is probably the best source of flame to light your smoke...except for maybe cedar sticks.

If the yellow flame you speak of comes from lighter fluid...lighter fluid is usually made from naptha which is a hydrocarbon by-product from in bewteen gasoline and benzine in the distillation process and is a POISON. It will also severely taint the taste of your smoke!

I take it that since you currently have no cigars you are very much a novice...take some time to learn the subtleties of enjoying a good cigar!

I have been using the Prometheus butane lighters with a "soft flame" and like them a lot but not sure how "windproof" a soft flame will be.

It is going to be quite difficult to find a windproof soft flame. I actually ahve both. I have a prometheus torch (check out cigarmony.com for great deals and a nice selection) for use on the golfcourse, or when I am going to be outside in an open area. I also have a dual-nozzle soft flame called a savinelli (the double corona) that I absolutely love. It was, IMHO a GREAT buy at 105 bucks http://www.cubancrafters.com/products.php/item_id/39 it is not, however windproof, nor even wind-resistant.
I, too love the elegant soft yello flame froma good butane lighter, but sometimes, a torch is the way to go. Either one can give you a great light, though they do require a different technique.
Good luck finding the lighter(s) that suit you! And man, go get some cigars!

i11 Old Boy!

Classy, not too windproof, and not too expensive. Not to mention, it's quality.

I disagree about torches being the best besides cedar, any butane lighter, soft or torch, is as good, and it's a matter of preference as to which you prefer. Granted a torch one is more windproof, but it also uses a lot more fuel. Personal preference, I, however, love my Old Boy.

You can't go wrong with any of these!

Torches:
ST Dupont X-tend
Prometheus Ultimo
Prometheus Intruder
Blazer PB207
Solo Trek
Solo Twin Flame (both soft and torch together to make a cool green flame)

Flints:
ST Dupont (Ligne1, Ligne2, LigneD)
Prometheus Churchill X
Old Boy

Like Smokelaw1, I use both torch and soft depending on where I will be. The most used are the X-tend, Ligne2, Churchill X & Intruder.

Hope this helps
~Mark

ps - ALWAYS use the best fuel possible! Triple refined MIN!

i use the Blazer PB207, and it rocks... It is also amazingly efficient on butane... and with the price of butane these days....... :)

I have one of these that I've carried for a couple of years.
While it's not a "cigar" lighter, I'm waiting to try it before buying anything else.

That's the Solo Storm I believe. Great lighters - lifetime warranty, even 50% cost against loss or theft!

Right you are. I originally bought it to aid in thawing ice covered locks on school buses. Who could have guessed I'd be roasting the end of a cigar with it years later. Sometimes the universe just has a way of working itself out. ;)

I have a Colibri for a bit ago that I think works great. But for an everyday one that'll get beat up, or for travelling, try TIGERs. You can get them of of eBay for, like $7 or so. They work great! And if it breaks, just grab another.

If I am going for just lighting cigars I would go for the Prometheus Xm it is butane and lights by flint fo it is a soft flame not tourch. It also has 2 flames spread out so it lights great!. I also prefer matches over a lighter.
