Just livin' the dream
I received a message that John Crowder - known here as @KayakinBoy - passed away unexpectedly a couple of days ago. I know he hasn't been around here recently, but I'm sure that some of the guys that have been around for a while will remember him. I first met John in December of 2004. He came into the Tinder Box in Chattanooga, TN where I worked and we struck up a conversation. He told me about Cigar Pass and I'm pretty sure I joined when I got home that night. John began coming in regularly and we started hanging out pretty often. Eventually, I got him hired on at the Tinder Box and we worked there together for some time.
I won't pretend that John and as are as close now as we once were. I moved away three years after we became friends so I didn't see him nearly as often. These days we would trade messages a few times a year and always say we should meet up next time I was back down in Chattanooga. Regrettably, that didn't happen.
Time isn't unlimited. Spend it with friends when you get the chance.
