The both orthos said I am a canidate for knee replacement. I had a brief coherent talk with the surgeon after surgery. He said it went great and did the microfracture procedure to regenerate cartilege growth. Hopefully it'll regrow so I wont have to go in for a transplant. Will know more after my visit with him today.

Brings back memories. They shaved the old cartilege off then drilled 6 holes in the bone to regenerate the cartilage growth about 12 years ago. I was then on the knee-bending machine for 20 hours for the first week, then 16 for the second week, 8 for the 3rd, and finally 4 hours for weeks 4&5. The machine was used to round out the new cartilege so that movement would be smooth. When they did this to my knee, the procedure was still experimental. It was the most painful thing I have had to endure. Thankfully, everything worked as planned and my knee is now painfree, I have a full range of motion and I can now embarass myself in soccer and basketball.
