OG Post-Whorer since 2008 bitches...
Hey guys,
I'm pretty sure nobody is really aware of what's going on over here in this section of Southern California, what with all of the shootings we've been having. Since December of 2007, the boys in blue have been having encounter after encounter with a local indian tribe here in the area. So far, only two of us have been hit, so the number of guys hit versus the number of shootings we've been in actually works out to decent odds, so to speak. But still, it's never a fun thing, but when it happens, it happens, and you just go. I don't like playing the odds either.
Here are some linkys on the history (some reason, they call us "Deputies" in there...fuggin news crews):
No arrests in gun battle incident on Soboba Reservation (Jan 03)
Five deputies fire in gun battle that killed Soboba tribal member (May 09)
Two dead in second gunbattle in a week on Soboba land (May 12)
I couldn't find anymore, but there have been approximately 7 shootings since December, and now we've had two shootings in May just a few days apart. Keep our boys in blue in your prayers. We're requesting the Bureau of Indian Affairs or the FBI step in and lock it down, but to no avail. At this point, all of us are pretty sure that won't happen until at least one of our police officers are killed. It's Federal land, and yes they are a sovereign nation, but still...something needs to be done. We've recovered automatic assault rifles up there, sniper rifles, even an RPG. HOW they got it, we have no idea...
I just did a traffic stop yesterday and arrested a Soboban on parole with a 9mm weapon, some dope, etc. Came this close to shooting him as well, due to his unsafe actions. Did I know he was Soboban? Not at the time, but afterwards when he starts telling us that his tribe is going to kill us for arresting him, we put two and two together. Surprisingly enough, approximately 2 hours after we arrest him, another shooting breaks out.
It's just crazy is all. They've declared war on the surrounding police department, and it's getting more tense. It's driving our wives sick with the unknown, because they're not sure what's going to happen each time we go on duty. Such is urban warfare.
Thanks for reading.
