Just got back from Vegas and attended the SEMA show this year instead of CA's Big Smoke.

PJ, I know you're gonna kill me for not dropping you a hello, but my computer's air card gave me so much problems I barely got a PM out.

I visited the Havana Cigar Co. on Paradise Road and picked up a couple of Dona Flor Selecao Robusto's. A good friend gave me one and I loved it! Also visited The Las Vegas Paiute Smoke Shop on Main Street in Downtown Vegas and picked up the Siglo line from Altadis to try. While in their humidor I bumped into the man "Stinky" who makes my much used Stinky Ashtray. Very cool guy and we talked about 10 minutes about his history and future. I got to finally see the original Stinky floor stand made out of wood. Very cool piece but I didn't bring my camera to take a pic of us.

Here's one from his website.

I also scored some JDN Antano Gran Consul's and some Ashton ESG's for a great price. Lastly, a short walk down Fremont Ave. and we found Lovos Cigar Co. which had some very tasty cigars all hand rolled by Edga who owns the place ( I think). I finally got to watch someone roll a chuchill and apply the cap. It was a very, very artful moment to see it being rolled and handed to you. I got a couple for friends to try. I got some very unique rolled cigars at a nice price, especially the petite perfectos that resemble short story's or the BTL from AF. Not sure how the "twisters" (what they call them, the large torpedos are called Arnold Twisters for the Governator who has his picture there ) taste, but the natural wrapped perfecto was a very good smoke with a good draw and straight burn. I'll probably visit them again to grab more or just phone in an order once I figure out which size and blend I like. The CAO's were a gift from my friend who traveled with us, just so you know.

One thing I noticed in down town Vegas, they are bringing back the "sin" to Sin City as many of the fronts of the casino featured scantily clad, thong and fishnet wearing dancers who also deal a mean game of BlackJack. Did I mention some had tig ole bitties?

Plus, they were all different nationalities so everyone had their favorite. sorry, I left my camera in the room, but if you go the the Big Smoke, check it out!

Impressive haul! Looks like a nice varied selection. Hope you get a chance to post some reviews!

Nice looking catch you got there. Next time remember the camera! :sign:

Sounds like you had a blast Dave! Next time you go to Vegas, you need to go check out the Shelby factory/museum outside of the city, it is awesome.

Normally, I've seen people getting warned about taking pics inside the casino floor, but I should have asked the ladies to pose for us. Maybe the guys who are going to the BigSmoke can verify how how the lady dealers were by snapping some pics. Check out Vegas Club and Binions.

Oooooooooooo, Par 3's gonna eat you!!!

Yeh, I thought I'd have more time to get a herf together. Ended up we went to other hotels to gamble like M, Pallazo, and Rio I didn't even step into Casa Fuente to grab any smokes. I'll be up again in February after the SuperBowl so I'll get to meet Par 3 and maybe you too Wkoti.

What? You went to Vegas and you didn't invite me?

Wolfie, you know how much bacon is served every day there? You'd have a bacon boner every day!

Dona flor you i can't find those anywhere.
Nice haul very nice.
Thanks JD, after smoking my one and only Dona Flor, I went in search of them on the 'Net but didn't trust any of the sites I saw them on so I opted to pay single prices. At least I can say I smoked it and have 2 more.

I'll try to see it next year Charles, thanks for the tip! Ya know, there were tons of FORD cars and trucks at SEMA, you'd love it. I think next year we'll plan to see the NHRA races which is just before SEMA.

Dave glad to hear you had a good trip. To bad you did not have time to get together.
Charles is right the Shelby spot is great and well worth the trip. If you are a speed freak the Richard Petty or Mario Andretti racing schools will let you drive in a real stock car or indy car. Spendy but an absolute hoot.

Im actually heading over there next weekend. Are they any other places I should check out. I have not gone to vegas with looking for cigars in mind, so I have not really noticed or looked for anything that is intersting to me. Does anyone have any recommendations as to things to check out (cigar related). I also wanted to go to the big smoke for this weekend coming up but, the timing thing was thrown off for me. Any suggestions would be appricated.
