You smell like my sausage!
Last night I finally decided that I wanted to see what all the fuss was about so I went and bought a bottle of Glenlivet 12 yo.
I have had the Dalmore Cigar malt last week and I guess that's what prompted me to go ahead and pick up a bottle yesterday, that and my wife's boss was coming over and he's big on whisky & scotch. I figured I would let him show me a few things.
I was pretty impressed with it overall, especially after cutting it with a little water so the alcohol wasn't in the way of the flavor. I thought it tasted a little woody - not smokey or charred, but like fresh oak. There was a clear sweetness after each sip that was really nice.
It looks like I might get hooked on this stuff.
