Soap?

Is there a soap that removes the smell of a cigar from your hand? I have a new baby and after i smoke a cigar i wash my hands but they still smell like cigar. anyone know of a soap/product tha will remove this smell?

Anything with a citrus base should help cut the smell, but remember you still have the smell in your nostrils. That may be what you are smelling and not your hands smelling.

Don't forget facial hair. I don't know if you have any, but the smell is nigh impossible to remove without vigorous scrubbing with a decent shampoo.

If you have stainless steel utensils, use a big spoon or a thick handled knife under running water. It works as well as the bars and you don't have to buy anything. It has to be under running water and it takes a few minutes, but it will remove most of the odor from your hands.

Lava soap works pretty well, too, but it can be hard on the skin if you don't have the hands of a mechanic or rancher.

I'm pretty sure a parts cleaner solvent from Safety Kleen or some such would easily remove the smell. Of course, then they will smell like said solvent... That's the problem w/most heavy duty cleaners is they impart their own smell to your hands.

There’s something about vinegar that gets rid of smoke smell. Because the smell of smoke is caused by the leftover resins and tars, vinegar (an acid that cuts through resin and tar) is a great way to clean those surfaces that aren’t made of fabric, and perhaps, some that are fabric. I know what you’re thinking; vinegar doesn’t smell much better than smoke. Well, that’s true, but the smell of vinegar eventually diminishes, cigarette smoke doesn’t.

I use Wood-Ease powdered soap. It's kind of like the old powdered soap they used in restrooms but it has wood particles in it.

My girl was born a month ago and I had the same problem.

'Vinegar'

Vinegar doesn't do the trick for me.

However, I have found that if I rub a quarter of a lime or lemon on my hands & vigorously rub the juice (a fresh peel/skin works also) in for a few minutes, that seems to resolve the problem.

I have never tried it for smoke, but down in the bayou we rub our hands together with salt, rinse, then wash with soap. It works great when you have been cleaning fish, wild game, and even after seafood boils.

Nothing will make your hands stink like picking crawfish for an hour!
