Some people are all about themselves. They extend you a handshake while trying to figure out how to get into your back pocket. I've seen some classless acts before on the cigar boards but there is one individual, who calls this place home, who has really taken it to a new level. This individual reminds me of the little kid who can't has his way so he takes his ball home. Pathetic!

Business is a funny thing..... when you don't take care of your customers they're gone. Some people never get that as its always about them. So sad.....

CP touts itself as the friendliest cigar board and I totally agree. Its got a great bunch of people and our host Rod has done a great job in making this place successful. Calling someone out has always been frowned upon here and in keeping with the friendliest cigar site theme I will not attach a name to this rant and respectfully request others do the same.

What goes around comes around...... what a baby! :angry:
 
Let me clarify something... Calling someone out on something they did wrong is NOT frowned upon here. I have always asked members to please resolve disputes privately, however if it cannot be resolved, and the person in question is 'scamming' other people or causing a disturbance amongst the community, go for it, call them on it, make it public. That's the only way we will remain the friendliest community, by weeding out the bad. Again, I have always said to please handle disputes between members via email, however if the problem is boardwide, then calling someone out publicly is probably best (in that type of case).

My rant was more about an individuals actions and character than being an outright thief or scam artist. Some people do only for themselves.

I regret posting a somewhat encripted post like this but I had to get it off my chest.

I don't want to mention any names, as I really don't have a dog in thsi race, but his intials are DWF.
 
<sigh> I thought this was all over with, but it appears Leebo is sharing our private correspondence again. Here's the background for anyone that is interested....

As many of you are aware, Lee purchased some webhosting from me a while ago. I stated from the very beginning (even before he decided to purchase it) that he would have to follow the Terms Of Service and Acceptable Use Policy. I've included links for any that would like to actually read them.
Shortly after creating the account SamClemmons reposted his now famous post that, although it was clearly about me, did not actually include my name within it. I felt this was a violation of the "Content" section of the AUP.

Derogatory, defamatory, or slanderous posts, pages, or graphics about DWFComputers.com or it's staff will not be tolerated. The customer risks cancellation and forfeiture of all monies paid without notice for any improper content on their site. I requested that the content be edited/removed. Lee refused with one of the reasons being that I was not actually named in the post and as such, it was not an actual violation. I let it go without asking for anything else to be edited or removed. Despite me not having any more requests or demands, Lee decided to move his site to another host.
Now, a few days after Lee completed moving his site, I discover that he was hosting pictures of my CP avatar with a poorly drawn penis pointing towards me and white marks that I can only assume was supposed to be sperm on my face. This was a clear violation of the Content section of the AUP, and as such, I temporarily suspended the account and asked either for permission to edit the site, or that he edit the content himself.
Lee responded that I could clear out the space because he was going to host someone's porn collection. See MattR, even I have enough class not to name.... ahh who am I kidding? Lee wanted to host MattR's porn collection! He also stated that he was going to post everything I said to his board.
Anyway, this would have been another (now the 3rd) violation - I told Lee that his intentions would not be allowed. I also insisted that he actually READ the entire TOS & AUP before I reinstated his account. I also included a message for him to post. I was offering a special discount on webhosting for all CigarSnobs members (actually, I was going to be offering a discount to all new customers soon - but don't tell Lee). He replied with with a "you can stick your webhosting where the sun doesn't shine". So, per his request - I terminated his account and thanked him for his business.
I figured the matter was over, but it now appears that Lee has once again been passing on our private correspondences. So, in that light, if anyone would like to see our emails back and forth, just ask - I'll be happy to forward them to you. You'll see that I handled this situation in nothing but a professional matter.

I know my reputation here is already in bad shape, if not ruined. But I think this simply goes to show how "classless" some people truly can be.

The real deal is this folks.....

Dave knew he didn't have the balls to take this to my site where it belongs! This is true because:

A. He no longer controls what is said and done there.
B. No cahones

So, I didn't start this thread nor did I prompt anyone to. What people think of Dave has been said. They don't nned me to tell them.

By the way, the pic which he refers to was sent in a pm. That's interesting.....

It was a good drawing I thought! LMAO

Ok, the reason I didn't "take this to your site where it belongs" was because I was responding to a post here. Duh!

As far as the picture being sent in a PM - I don't know how/where it was posted sent. It was stored in the "uploads" folder. As your host, I have the right to inspect your webspace. Once again, if you had bothered to READ the rules, you would have known that you allowed this by signing up.

I fail to see how you ignoring the rules that you agreed to follow makes me the bad guy here. :lookup:

Dave, your assertion that Lee's discusing a business transaction is "private information" is positively inaccurate. It is perfectly acceptable for customers to discuss this information with others. It's called word-of-mouth advertising - nothing secrative about it.

However, it is generally accepted business etiquite and often the law that businesses respect the privacy of of their customers and information regarding their customers' accounts.

This is yet another example of your bluring the lines between business and pleasure.

In regards to watching you closely, no that was not the case. Due to your history as a troublemaker-client, I felt the need to exercise my right to inspect your webspace. Funny, yours is the FIRST web space that I've felt the need to do that. And guess what? I was justified in doing it. You did, in fact, have a clear violation of the AUP and you got busted for it. If you don't like it, go cry to all your followers.
