It might be a little mean to find this funny, but I did so I thought I would tell you guys about it.

This past weekend my freinds and I went down to the beach for some r and r. Me and one other guy were sitting on the beach smoking a cigar just chilling. Up walks a stranger and asks for a lighter, said he bought this cuban off a guy wanted to try it out. My first thought was yeah right, but before I could say it he said "its probably a fake though." I said probably but that doesnt mean its a bad cigar. Then off he went. Couple minutes later he walks back over and says heres the wrapper and handed me the celo with the band inside. Thats when it got funny. It was all I could do to not LOL and fall off the cooler I was sitting on. What did he show me, you ask? Poor guy had bought one of Thompsons house cigars from someone. Ok thats it call me mean if you like, I just thought it was pretty funny.

That is pretty funny.
Like the Montecristo Double Corona I was recently given , still in cello, withthe N/C band on it, that I was told was really a thirty dollar cuban that the guy (who gets them direct from Cuba) re-bands and puts in cello to fool customs.

Not mean at all. Too bad, as I hate to hear someone defrauding a cigar smoker, but if the guy bought a cheap n/c on the street, and paid money for it as if a Cuban, he probably isn't exactly what I would call a "cigar smoker."

Yeah he even said he wasn't a regular smoker. He walked away pretty fast when I told him he had basically bought a generic cigar.

Why don't people counterfeit Wines... you would think you could get $20 for fake french wine. Are cigar smokers just stupid, why do they come after us?

Ouch. Funny but in a semi-pathetic sort of way. :p

The guy who sold him the Thompson must have had some cojones though...or he was betting this fellow had absolutely no idea of what to look for.

Wilkey
